For the source code, can you upload the whole folder? I can't open it in Game Maker, I really want to know how you achieved some of the effects!

@secretmapper I added instructions on the Itch.io page on how to open the source code. Tell me if this works for you :
>You need to Import the project into Game Maker Studio 2 by going into File > Import Project, then choosing the .yyz file

>You can also rename the file to .zip and open it this way

I like it. I will say the chromatic aberation effect on the main menu title text works really well for the some of the pallets, but for others it feels ohmost like it has double vision.

I'm a big fan of twin-stick shooters so this game was ideal for me. Although the visuals were fairly basic I feel that it worked well for an arcade style game. The variety of weapons and enemies was impressive and you captured the theme. Good job!

It's like Doom for Atari 2600 I never knew I need! It's flashy, fast and brutal. Controls are tight, and weapons are badass. Good job!

The birth child of Tormentor x Punisher and arcade aesthetic! No resting in this game took a quick breather in a corner and barrage of death came my way <3

Good game. I loved the music, and interesting concept with sacrificing. I picked impaired vision and was immediately like "This was a bad idea!". Interesting effect with the fish-eye lens. It almost makes me want to attempt to do it myself.

Excellent entry, only thing I would have needed would be a better tutorial (it lacks an info about the r key, and since the game plays with esdf my fingers were lost when trying to pickup stuff while fighting).
Also maybe give some more time to pickup stuff on the floor between stages.
Loved the sprites, the look&feel and the music o/

Although the core concept is quite classic, the amount of polish you were able to do is impressive ! Good job ! I however wasn't able to get really far in the game since it's very difficult. I would have love to experiment with the different sacrifices.

I love a good twin-stick shooter, this one has a great variety of weapons, a cool monitor buldge and chroma aberration effect, the music has a nice catchy charm to it and good job getting a leaderboard running. Also like the addition of sacrificing a body part, which adds a disadvantage to the following levels.

Instead of the standard WASD, you set ESDF. I keep mentally positioning my hand over WASD, so I move left when I'm meant to move right. I think it'd also make it easier to cope if you could pick up weapons and health packs with the right mouse button as an alternative.

This was a really fun shooter, and it looks great but the controls are too of putting for me to play over and over again.

@gamepopper Thanks !

The ESDF key setup was chosen because it allows AZERTY users (such as myself) to not have to change their keyboard layout when playing the game, which you have to do if you play using WASD. That allowed me to not have to add a remapping menu to the game and that saved me some time. But I get that I can be off putting for some people.

Amazing work in less than 48 hours and really good aesthetic. Gameplay fits with the theme. One of my favorites. Thank you ++

The music is nice. It's really cool that you implemented a leaderboard! I'm really not a fan of the ESDF setup, especially since it's just as easy to bind the same actions to W/Z and A/Q. I also think the right click would have better suited the purpose for pickups. The chromatic abberation is too much, it's supposed to appear in the corners of the screen, not everywhere homogenously. I think getting hit lacks feedback, I tend to die without ever feeling like I had been hit.

I am not good at this kind of games because I suck at using a mouse, but I really like the pace, music and aesthetics, it makes for a great atmosphere. I would probably watch longplays of this game just to see how far people can go. So, how about 1) gamepad support and 2) a difficulty setting?

Great music and vfx, and the shooting is pretty nice. Can't say I enjoyed the exploding enemies, I just couldn't get away from them. Props for making a leaderboard!
