This Game Blows by fibonacci1321

[raw]
made by fibonacci1321 for LD 44 (COMPO)

This is my first Ludum Dare Game Jam game.

Use the arrow keys to move the robot around.

Place a Wind Turbine in the wind to gain charge using the Left Mouse Button.

Use the Right Mouse Button to increase the battery capacity.

Wind turbines and battery capacity upgrades each cost 1 unit of charge.

Thank you for playing :)cover.png

It's ok for the first ever compo entry.

You managed to get an idea and create a working product without major bugs.

theme is fitting!

keep working and create a post compo version with all the improvements :)

โ€‹I couldn't move but I managed to fill the entire screen :D.
Great concept, it would be nice incremental game.

Really interesting game, unique mechanics and sweet atmosphere. Some soothing music and its GOTY 2019, good job!

Really nice concept, although it becomes trivial once you figure out you can spam turbines in a row. If the wind lost energy as it flies through the turbines it would help make it more strategic. Good job overall!

Really nice idea, that fits the game perfectly. At first I thought you could only place the windmills at the player position, which was really hard with the slow movement. But when I understood the game it made more sense.
Maybe there should be a limit on how many windmills one can place. Once you reach a critical mass, it's impossible to lose.

Good job all in all!

For you first compo, great job! The game works and is enjoyable! The biggest issue I found was that sometimes the "wind" would appear off the screen and I couldn't do anything. Besides that, good job

Fun to play with. Arrows + Mouse is painful for me; supporting WASD + Mouse would be a significant quality of life improvement.

Congratulations on sticking it out and submitting a complete game for your first jam! The game fit the theme and it works. I'm still trying to figure out if your title is a pun or you didn't like your own game haha. Keep it up!

Congrats for completing your first ever Ludum Dare! This game kind-off deviates slightly from the theme, but hey it works. I think the style of the graphics achieve here gives off a unique effect seperating from the rest of the submissions. Solid game, also 5/5 for the pun

This was suprisingly fun, but very easy once I understood that I could just spam a single blow of wind.

It's kind of disturbing how the game starts out really peaceful and calm, and then looks really industrialized and ugly after a while.

The bot is very cute :)

Btw: This was my first time participating as well ;)

I'm sorry but I couldn't have fun playing this game. The robot is really slow. The idea is nice though and the game is cute.

Not bad for your first entry, but the robot is way too slow to be effective. You're basically hoping for the wind to keep blowing on the same windmill, and the recovery rate doesn't last long enough for me to wait for another gust without dying. Unless I'm missing a mechanic, but increasing my healthbar didn't help me in the slightest. Instead, I just emptied it when I didn't want to.

But hey, great job nonetheless, it's always cool to see new ideas. Your mechanic has some potential, but I can't figure out how to exploit it :/

I seem to play in the wrong way. I put a couple of turbines and get a game over :(
