Space Cleanup - When the Space was running out of space! by Harsh Bawari

[raw]
made by Harsh Bawari for LD 42 (JAM)

My first time Ludum Dare. This is a space shooter game where the space is running out of space because every country started launching a large number of satellites! Your job is to shoot down the unusable(red) satellites, but your bullets should not touch the usable(green) satellites. If you miss a red satellite, it will take space in Space. If you run out of space or lives, the game is over. Try to score as much as possible. And please leave a review so that I can improve. Thanks.screenshot1.JPGscreenshot2.JPGscreenshot3.JPG

It's a cool idea. The game is really buggy at the moment though. Ship keeps shaking and moving on its own. Also moves outside of view sometimes. Music is a bit repetitive. Other than that, a pretty clean game!

A lot of times Red Satellites spawn behind Green ones or right on top of them. Which means I either lose points or space.

I also noticed that sometimes if my bullet goes through a satellite (destroys it) and then goes into another one it doesn't destroy it. Also the hitboxes seem a bit small, I swear I'm hitting them!

The amount of speed that gets increased is a lot. Maybe try to ease into it, like make the game faster over a period of time so it's not that sudden.

If you stay still in the middle your ship will start going backwards until eventually it's off your screen. My advice here would be to make the ship actually stay in one place (besides moving around with the keys) and have the satellites move only. If you'd have a background you could animate the background to give the illusion of movement.

@mateusboga Thanks for your comment. The ship is shaking because I am moving the ship and the camera, which is a mistake. I should have moved the satellites along with the background and should have kept camera and ship still. Can I fix and update the game, I don't know if I can! Maybe I'll get disqualified if I update now?

@harsh-bawari I think it's considered a bug fix, but I'm not sure. The rules say you can fix bugs..
