Unlucky Planet by Siridakis

[raw]
made by Siridakis for LD 38 (COMPO)

LD38_15.gif

As an indestructible pink rectangle, all you want is some quiet place to rest and enjoy life... but it seems you chose the wrong little planet :/
Why do all space drifting torpedos (that's a thing apparently) have to end up right in your home?
Use your body to destroy them all and defend your world before it blows up!

Controls: left/right arrow keys or A/D to walk
up arrow key, W or SPACEBAR to jump

Please enjoy and don't forget to rate.
Every feedback is appreciated!

P.S.: I recommend playing the windows versions as it's always less buggy... ^-^'

Cute game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation [video series](https://youtu.be/tHgMVMVGPRc), if you’d like to take a look :)

The game has a nice aesthetic graphically and the music is nice as well. This game is really hard, but in a good way. I can never get very far, but what I've played has been great. Great work!

Nice. I liked the presentation of the game and how you can gradually beef up your capabilities while defending the planet. The game felt really responsive, and sessions went quickly enough that it didn't feel like a slog. Well done.

Great game, thanks! The music is very repetitive, though. I loved the concept and the upgrades.

Starts out a little stale, but gets a lot more interesting once the upgrades start kicking in.

You should probably probably reduce the game height (or implement a fullscreen mode) as I had t zoom out the browser page for the game to fit ( and this screen is relatively high-rez screen).

GG!

Unlucky Planet is fun and engaging. The shop really gives some depth to the game, but with more work, it could be even deeper. Great job getting the concept done and playing really well. I am impressed you got this all together so fast!

Great game, keeps one interested! However gets boring after you get all the upgrades and can just spin in one direction and jump constantly to get over 3k every time. Lovely graphics, a bit repetitive music but good sounds.

This was a fun experience. In the beginning the game was a little slow and sometimes the game will just throw torpedoes at you that are impossible, but after you get the extra rectangle upgrade, the game get a lot easier and more playable.

Lots of things to like here. Simple but effective art. Simple but effective sound effects. Some gentle screen shake. Good upgrades. Smooth controls.

Minor requests I would have
1. I don't mind losing but it feels like much of the damage is completely unavoidable due to impossible scenarios. Would prefer if it felt doable I just wasn't quick enough
2. Maybe take me to the shop automatically when I have enough money rather than requiring user to go back out to the menu to do it.
