Very Original Puzzle Game by Devastus

[raw]
made by Devastus for LD 42 (JAM)

title_icon02.png

In a delirious stroke of desperation I cooked this turd up in the final 8-9 hours of the LD42 Jam. Move your crystal thing with Arrows or WASD and avoid walls, which you create by moving. Collect keys, unlock locks and go through portals. Clever, amirite?

I took up the challenge of learning Godot among other tools this Jam, and the number one issue for me was Godot's lackluster documentation. We didn't really have much anything come the final day, so I'm glad I switched gears and took a different, simpler idea to quickly wrangle through myself. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for giving up :P

The lack of levels is its biggest weakness. The last level was the only one I found somewhat challenging. Still, this game looks quite polished and neat despite its rushed development (I especially enjoy your use of color) and the sounds are satisfying to hear. Good work!

nice game! the graphics especially are gorgeous! it would have been better if there were a few more levels, but as you said, you only had 8-9 hours. Nice game!

Hey there fellow Godot developer!
I really liked your game and the graphics are slick. Obviously it's not a revolutionary idea but it is well executed. Would have liked a background music and some more levels though.

Dude ! Nice entry ! I love the puzzle game and the concept of this one is really good ! It should have more levels, even if I understand how its hard to make PuzzleGame' Level in a Jam ^^ Graphics are also great ! Good game, hope you will work on a full version :)

Veeeeeery original, but seriusoly, you implemented your idea really well! The game looks really good, controls smoothly and generally feels good to play. This is an amazing feat considering the time you used. I'd have loved to play some more levels.

A simple but very well thought puzzle game. I beat level 5 without using all the key so I felt super clever, but maybe it was intended to be beaten that way, ahahaha :) I'm impressed by what you could build in just 8 hours, it's super well put and fun to play, congrats!

Despite being really short and lacking in some of the icing on the cake (music, nicer sfx), this is pretty much exactly how I'd like a game jam game to be executed. Well done, and thank you for the post-mortem writeup! It's good to see that you were able to salvage your jam and come up with something quite decent in the 11th hour!

Nicely done! Everything felt smooth and well executed. Obviously the idea is not super innovative, but you acknowledged and embraced that in the name so no points off from me! I've worked with Godot previously as well, actually, and I have since moved on to Unity. I suggest trying it out, if you haven't already. The documentation is much much better, as you'd probably expect.
