I loved this submission before i played the game...The decription and presentation are so cool. But the game alone looks and feels amazing. I love those menu animations, sounds and of course the music is fabulous! Great job!

Pretty solid game if you ask me. I have to say the biggest strongpoint in this game by far is the presentation. I mean the UI is beautifully laid out, the menu's are well done and the music is funny but not eye wrenchingly annoying. I must say though that for a game that's meant to have a lot of replay value I found myself become increasingly less interested as I kept playing. I think that the core mechanic is there and its well implemented but it's missing the umpf it needs. I feel like progression is very slow and the game really only starts to pick up when it becomes incredibly difficult. Not like difficulty is necesserally a bad thing I just think that the game only becomes really fun when it's too difficult for me to progress any further. Nonetheless its a very nice game and definetely something that can be picked up again in the future. Good Job :)

@call-me-nutty Thanks for the feedback! My original goal was to add more weapons to compensate the difficulty but I was really tired at the end (cca 3 hours before the end of the compo) so I dropped it :(

I do, however, find it hilarious.
Great game, especially the music. If I had to suggest an improvement, I wish I could attack the chickens by clicking, it'd feel more comfortable for me.
(final score was 23000 something, I can't remember heheh)

Wow! Love the FXs and the music!! A++ :) Also, the mechanics are simple, which is great. A little bit more of variety will be great. Really enjoy playing it!

I like how you gotta kill to keep your sanity! My one qualm is how it goes on kinda slowly at first, then once you get the katana (which is where it starts to actually get really fun) you just lose your sanity very quickly. Just need more balance. And the sounds of all the chicken was maddening, which was PERFECT. Thanks, that was fun and cathartic! And yay for using Godot!

Fun to play, the music suits the game. Maybe you should be able to attack up or down.

I like the slashing animation and the way chickens bob when they walk. I get a Vlambeer vibe from the whole thing.

I'm not sure if you made sounds, but they fit the game pretty well. Graphics were also nice and simple. While gameplay is not too rich in features, it has well made simple mechanics that work quite nice for this kind of game. Not sure if weapon being transfered to next run is a bug, but it works quite well.

Hit detection works a bit strange. And I feel like this game should have some power-ups, like sedative pills, berserk mode, speed boost, chicken magnet, etc. As well as anti-power-ups like chicken mini-boss sumonner, booze (sedative + slow down), chicken armor :smiley:

Oh, and please add a scythe. Katanas are good, but not that good as the mighty scythe could be.

The game is well polished and the mechanics fits the theme well~
For me I see it like a comedy game and both the chicken die sound (I guess it's your own voice?) and the background music enhanced the comedy feeling.
Overall Good work!

But personally I do not very like the kind of game that the player will eventually die lol

@fancyreckless Well it's a compo so I made all the sounds, imagine the face of a person walking into my room while screaming in the microphone :smile:... And yeah the weapon in the next run is a bug and I'll fix it as soon as I can but I have a lot of school work right now. Cheers!

@icxon Oh yeah the detection system is a bit weird but I didn't have time to improve it... And I wanted to add power-ups and more weapons but still... not enough time :confused: Anyways, Thanks for the feedback!
