Slime Chargers! by thepaperpilot

made by thepaperpilot for LD 39 (COMPO)

A rare crystal has emerged, and you've taken your flying fortress to obtain it. Unfortunately, you'll first need to charge it up, before you can remove it. To do so you'll use a special breed of slimes that can charge these crystals through contact. Use your fortress to protect your slimes as they charge up your crystals!

Cool Game, there is a lot of different upgrades to play with.
At first, I click in because of those cute slimes. However,at the end, I was the one who kills the most slimes.
That was too easy to smash them accidentally when they just climb up from the ground!!
Also, the enemy img are a little bit too simple, I cost several of my cute slimes to figure out those standing people are gunner!XD

took a bit to figure out that clicking causes the fort to 'teleport' to that location and fall. higher fall = more damage. Slims being so much bigger then the stick figures made it really hard to hit the stick figures and not the slims (stick figures also took more damage to kill then the slimes)

Strange concept. It's way too hard to kill the attacking forces without killing the slimes as well. Also would have liked to be able to buy upgrades mid-level, waiting until the end to get even the low-level upgrades took too long.

Interesting concept. I like the idea of dropping the wall down as a way to deal with the enemies. A wide choice of upgrades too and I actually quite liked the cutesy artwork. Some things to note for improvement, the wall felt perhaps a bit too big, and it was sometimes hard to control when the enemies were close to slimes. Another thing to note, perhaps it was me playing the game wrong, is that there is no punishment or repercussions for even killing slimes or letting the men get to the crystal. A nice little game, nonetheless.

Odd idea, but you did make some strange decisions. Stick men are smaller than the slimes making attacking a very cautious process.

It just wasn't doing it for me. Felt like the game worked against itself with crushing your own slimes. Silly art and amusing concept of slamming a fortress down to attack. Needed more work on the design.

I like the idea but there are some design problems with execution. For example, it's optimal to squish all your slugs in early waves so you can farm coins from the stickmen. You also might as well not have the option to drop the castle from a higher high since it's strictly worse than clicking directly on the stickmen which is a shame since it's so much fun to drop the castle from the top of the screen.

Fun concept with the fortress falling, but started to feel boring pretty quickly. A bit more polish, like adding some background music or some walking animationsm could quite easily make this game a lot more fun.

haha, better than a clicker game, but still a clicker mechanic. I still don't know what is the use of slims or what to get from killing them ?

Funny art style, but a game like this that is heavily depending on the buildings bashing the sticky men, it might have been better to have variations on the bashing sound effects.

Cool concept, though I don't think the game really shows "running out of power". It is more based on "getting power".

Nice entry! Love the art style. The choice of clicking higher to have more impact or click low and be able to bash your castle on the floor multiple times in a short period is very cool. The stickmen were a bit hard too see, but I loved their animations :)

Overall well done!

Hi there, funny clicker game, somehow oddly abstract. I always killed my slimes when I stomped to often with the castle.

Oh man, that castle stone hits hard :DD
Very funny and addictive even though pretty simple. The art fits perfectly!
