Robo Tomb by Xacur

In this short game you play as a renegade ninja robot during.. lets say, a nuclear war.
The Robot Hero needs to rescue the other little robots called Gnomes. The Gnomes will follow him when rescued, and some of them will grant him powers.
You need to rescue every Gnome in each level to clear it. Your only weapon are your bombs. Pressing Q you place a bomb and that will explode in a few seconds.
The Gnomes are immune to the bombs but not you, so you can kill yourself. In addition, there are robot enemies, those can kill your Gnome friends. And you lose life every time one of them is killed.

Minor gripes aside the game's really cool! Congrats
Maybe a little overboard on the screenshake, but thats pretty nit picky - its a really solid compo entry.
First thought: Nice graphics and lightning, overall looking good.
At first, it wasn't quite clear which entities were my friends and which were my enemies. But after touching 1 it became clear, instantly.
I really like that gnomes can give you different abilities (in the form of bombs). This makes me not want to lose them!
Also, chain explosions!
Maybe it would be cool to make bombs kickable (nudging it in a direction).
Liked it, nice entry c:.
Will try to beat it when I have some more time on my hands!
Simple, fun and a nice take on bomberman and dungeon crawlers.
Enjoyed the music, the gameplay fit with the theme definitely, and the graphics weren't too bad either.
Good job!
BUT
The game mechanics feel disjointed, as if they were all made for different games. The trail of gnomes doesn't really work with the bomb mechanic, the cross bomb really didn't make much of any difference, the enemies and the gnomes didn't interact in a satisfying way (often you run away from an enemy but they'd still get your gnomes). The bombs themselves feel like they weren't a fun weapon in this scenario.
So... I dunno, it's okay, but it doesn't really stick out in any way.
To sum up, all round very solid, good job :grinning:
It was my first Ludum Dare (and my second game ever) and I think I scoped it too big, luckily for me I know how to cut things from projects to make it on time. Again, thanks for playing it.
Jogo simples, mas com um design muito interessante, rapidamente o jogo pode ter muito mais complexidade como um puzzle. Parabéns!
Overall, a good entry, good job!
But congrats, it's a great game with great potential!
Lol, while I'm writing this I've figured out how to do it, but I guess the time pressure was a factor.
Thanks for the feedback!
Also, I think the sound is a little bit too loud. Should add more gnomes tho! But I didn't get why the more you have bad it is, is it because the explosion range?
If you need more deep info, you can summon me here. Hope I can help you with this feedback. Also, if possible check my game too.
I know how is hard to create a perfectly polished levels-based game, so you still get high ranks from me.
Very good entry !
i hope you will make a full game of it : it's frustrating to just have only 2 levels but you couldn't design more in 2 days.
Nice job!
I liked how the graphics and the gameplay tied everything together to a coherent whole. I wasn't very good at this game so I only played up to the end of the second level, so I may have missed content.
I think the one thing I would have preferred to make the game easier to pick up again after dying would have been to allow placing more than one bomb similar to Bomberman. That would allow me to clear less dangerous areas quicker.
One comment:
usually the itch.io client allows me to download web games but in your case, I got an error message:

It's probably not your target platform, but maybe you wanted to know.
The multiple bombs could have been an upgrade, but didn't have time for that either.
