Torcher by RiverPirate
It looks like this is our final build.

After only 43 of the 72 hours and little sleep, the whole team is exhausted. Unfortunately we all have to work tomorrow, so it's time to go back home (22:00 local). We were not able to finish some of the planned assets, among which the walking enemy and backdrop, due to the graphic designer hurting his back.
We didn't have the time to meet all our ambitions, but overall we are satisfied with the result. In particular the learning and teambuilding effect of coming up with a concept and building a game around a given theme in such short time. Because we all have an unlimited fantasy, our ambitions were bigger then we could accomplish but overall it was a fun and educational weekend for all of us! We can conclude that our workflow is good and we have a perfect atmosphere in our team.
The game we made is based on the theme "The more you have, the worse it is"

Some explanation of the control may help, as far I understood : arrows to move, number to control light, space to jump and left click... We need at least 3 hands to be play comfortably.
I think there is potential here. The mood is dark and with a little polish it could be really depressing, if you are into that sort of thing =p
Thanks everyone for your feedback!
First of all I love the wacky way the character moves, the walking looks funny and weird which I personally love in combination with the theme. I like the artstyle, it's cartoonish but still has a certain spookiness to it, I think wacky animations go well with a spooky theme. I'm also a sucker for platformers so I'm rather fond of this type of gameplay.
Now I know this might sound a bit harsh but negative feedback is probably the most valuable. First of all, where is the intro? Who is this character, why is he there, what does he want or have to do there? There is zero background information about this wacky dude which is a shame.
It would be nice to have a tutorial or at least a preview about what your character can do. The lack of a damage indicator makes damage really confusing and caused me to die really quickly because I didn't even know what happened.
Stuff like the oil lamp floating in the air and weird noises for attacks are understandable for a first game!
I could go on about the small stuff but what's most important about this game is that you as a team have fun creating it, making games is all about fun. Sometimes i wonder where it all went wrong with AAA industries and I think it's because they lost the ability to have fun creating something.
I hope this helps and i'm interested in your upcoming projects.
