Fight for the Mike! by Eiyeron

[raw]
made by Eiyeron for LD 41 (COMPO)

Fight against the top #1 band and set your newmusic genre (which actually is a mix-up of two old genres) as the best seller, for now...

This is only using the mouse. YOu can select characters in your team (the blue pants one) with left click and move them with right click. They'll automatically attack. (They will act alone, but a bit of help is always welcome!)

i like the game, had some issues at first getting the hang of the game, though i still cant tell who is doing what and if my clicks do anything at all.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, when I realized it was way too messy to get on it, I didn't have an idea to make it better.

Really hard to control / understand, but I love the concept!

The gameplay was a bit of a mess, quite fast and at times very hard to comprehend. The players were very similar with each other and the movement was a bit random. Didn't know if clicks were responsive at all.

Had to read explanation to understand what I should do, and even then I did not quite get it
But graphics are really good, you have a good sense!

Took me a three plays to understand which guys were in my team.
But then, when I understood, I won the next few plays!
Lovely mood!

I like the dual approach to the theme: a combination of music genres, and a combination of real-time strategy with wrestling. Playing was rather fun when I figured out what's going on, but I felt like the match could last a little longer. Maybe make several rounds "set list"?

I liked the concept, but I really couldn't figure out what was going on in this one, even after reading the help. It feels more like a simulation, even though I could select a character to move around. Selecting the different types of music didn't seem to change the music or gameplay. Maybe make the band members for each side wear the same colors.

Nice art and cool concept! Unfortunately it was hard for me to figure out any kind of strategy. It was mostly just selecting my guys and sending them towards the enemies.
Good little compo entry!

Interesting concept & good graphics but hard to figure out at a glance. It was pretty hard to control, especially clicking on my characters, so being able to box select would help a lot here. Attacking also seemed fairly random so it was hard to implement any sort of strategy (attacking 2 on 1 for example). Still this has some potential, keep it up!
