GRAVITY WARS: A 3rd person bullet-hell shoot-em-up with gravity warp mechanics.

OBJECTIVE: Kill the green-blue tesseracticles!

...either by shooting them, or by using your gravity to steer them into planets.

Bullets, planets and enemies give you damage. Satellites don't, but will take out enemies. There isn't really an ending - you just have to see how many aliens you can kill before you're blown up!

Controls: Game controller recommended - or - arrow keys to move, spacebar or mouse to fire.

Episode XXXVIII: A SMALL WORLD

The StarKiller Base was built to destroy planets and one-up the Death Star. Now it will be put to its ultimate test: Low-poly sci-fi enemies!

Interstellar wormhole aliens have created a spatial anomaly to launch 'tesseract bombs' into the solar system. The immense gravitational forces are also preventing our escape!

But the StarKiller Base is big enough to generate its own gravity, which you can use to steer the alien bombs into nearby planets.

It's also a giant gun, so you can also shoot them!

Just be careful - your energy blasts might come back to hurt you. Too many hits from bullets, planets or enemies, and it's Game Over man.

I had fun with this game.

Its very well made and I love how the ground ripples and bends around you.

The game is very pretty.

Great entry and well rated by me.

I really like the effect on the floor when the ball moves, also the graphics have a very good mood. I think that if you plan to improve the game in the future, maybe moving the camera a little bit to see where you are aiming would feel good, I think. I'm not sure if it's a matter of taste but I wanted to look at what I was shooting (the issue appeared only when I was moving back). Also, adding more feedback when being hit could help improve the overall experience. In general I think it's a good entry, very nice.

Very nice audio and visual assets and sfx - especially liked the warping effect. The game mechanics could perhaps use some improvement, it's often hard to find an enemy to shoot, and aiming is occasionally difficult. Perhaps some way to (slightly?) aim the camera would help? Overall, a very nice entry.

Lovely visuals! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

This game is great in all aspects but gameplay, I really really think it is an idea with a lot of potential, if you make the controls feel better and more progression. Great idea, polish the gameplay a lot and I believe this can be an amazing game! =)

Oscar for the soundtrack. And I'll even throw in a grammy :)

Though I found the gameplay a bit buggy - or I didn't understand some mechanic behind it, at some point I always got glued to the plane border :/ Nevertheless it's a really fun experience with really pretty graphics to match.
Did I mention the sounds? :D

It's a project with loads of potential. I'd love to see it developed more - If I may suggest something, allow player to aim with mouse instead of just by positioning the sphere, it would make the gameplay much more fluent. You've got a great game on your hands, push it further!

BTW, we both made a similar crawl as an intro, though yours is of course much more Star Wars'y ;)

Cheers!

Graphics and music (THE MUSIC!!! ) were top notch, from the best I've seen so far.

As for gameplay, I started playing expecting a shooter similar to Geometry Wars or Waves, both of which I love, and had some problems figuring out what to do. Eventually I managed to get it right, but I still felt that there wasn't a real challenge. However, like @takusan I also agree that there's a great foundation here for a solid game. For example, I like the fact that you need to take care of dodging your own projectiles, that idea can probably be developed further.

Good job!

Omg! Love this game! The music gets 5/5, it was hilarious. Loved the story and the graphics is great. Most of all it was very fun to play. I spent a lot of time on the border and I wonder how would it be if you had the camera following the player from behind, I often found myself running towards it. I'd love to see more of this!

I liked the audio and the visuals of this one. The gameplay could be improved, maybe adding a camera that follows the player or even a way to control the camera would make it easier to figure out where enemies are.
Great job and keep making crazy games!

Polish the gameplay, add some extreme violence and take my money! Liked the visuals and sounds

Very cool graphical style! I was pretty awful at actually using my gravity to affect things, but I wish I had a gamepad handy to try it out as recommended. Good work!

Audio was the best.

Was a bit confused about the objective and what I was supposed to be shooting at. I also seemed to just get stuck when I blew up and couldn't restart?

The graphics and audio were really good. I didn't really know what was going on though, I didn't really know how I was getting points (or at least I think that is what the points were, top left corner?) Controls were pretty good too. It would be nice to have a restart button after you die though, or if it was there, it wasn't obvious that there was.

The presentation is neat (and funny!), but the effects look much better in the screenshots than in actual motion. There's an odd delay to the gravity well effect and the movement of things in general is very... floaty? They don't seem to have any mass at all.

I'd prefer to use the gravity well to fling the bombs around as physics based shenanigans are more interesting than the usual *pew pew* nonsense, but the area is too small rendering it finicky to use at the moment. Lasers are a much safer bet, except when they wrap around the world and hit you in the back side. I do like that idea!

Overall an ok entry. The interactivity in this *highlyinteractive* production is lacking unfortunately and I find that disturbing.

I really love the mesh bending and other effects used in this game. It looks really great. I was not a big fan of the music, and the other audio effects could be spiced up a bit for more excitement. When I blew up at the end, I couldn't do anything, had to close the game and restart it to play again.

Yep, the ploy worked. I cracked up out loud at the music. I got some weird looks at the coffee shop. I'll probably be humming the theme music to myself all day now.
The graphics and sound was awesome. I think the 'gravity' could be used more interestingly other than just visually. Maybe get sucked into orbits and stuff. Also the combat mechanics were a bit awkward.
