Just like QWOP, I don't think I could ever get the hang of the mechanics, though.
Well done, I'm amazed you pulled that off just during the jam time. Looks really uniform, and with a sense of umour thrown in. And good spit on the time - small world as in theatre and as in life on arena.
The controls are, amazingly, quite easy to pick up, the fact that you can't just easily smack your face on the ground wad a good idea :) Walking gets quite easy - hold a/d and alternate w/s, though incorporating introduction as tutorial was a great idea, really helps to get into the game.
I can only imagine what nightmare the hitboxes were during development.
Very well done, you definitely have my vote. Very interesting and enjoyable entry.
And the animation when dead guys are hoisted up off screen.
So weird, so great.

And you know, I hate this type of game where you have to run moving legs.
But here with the "strings attached" you made this mechanic work amazing ;-)
Also the soundtrack is AWESOME.
physics, so physics =)
we will turn this bug into feature one day =)
I really liked that you even had some story to this. Also, the dead puppets being pulled up out of the scene is a great detail that contributes to this being an extremely well executed jam entry! However, your instructions say 'D': raise left leg, where 'S' raises left leg instead and 'D' is for walking right.
Thats it! The slow physics is perfect for a network-based game.

Awesome game, even better considering its a **jam**! Full five stars, I cannot rate less than that in any rating. You actually got me.
Cons? Playing against the bot is kinda boring, because it applies all forces perfectly and it's movement doesn't feel clunky at all (which is the charm of game). Btw, how did you manage to code such a perfect I.A. in such a short deadline? o.O
Oh yeah, and remove the "confirm" button from <Enter/Return>. Why? If you pay attention to player's hands, one is at WASD, and one is at the mouse, there is no free hand to press <Enter/Return> (well... maybe there is if A.I. cuts one).
The sword play could be more precise though. And for the love of god please change those uity standard buttons :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I really liked it though, very very good entry!
I did die in the training by walking into the guy's sword by accident. Laughed pretty hard at my misfortune and shame-reloaded the game to play it right.
Nice!
I had a lot of trouble hitting my opponent with my sword. It kept rising and falling onto his shield. It seemed like I could alter the swing a little by changing my center of gravity, but for the most part the swords arc seemed the same no matter what. Perhaps if conan jabbed forward when youre leaning forward it might be easier.
please, take a chance to my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-microns
@rodrigo-denubila , I rated it couple of days ago ;)
Well done!
Easy to grasp, bloody hard to master. I'm amazed you got all this done in such a short time. I couldn't get very far because I sucked.
Only constructive feedback I dare give is with polish on the controls (especially attacking) would make it even better. I really hope you do something with this as I'd defo buy it.
Well done!
OH Loved the curtain swish effect as they close. Nice little touch!
