Really like the style of the game and the music. Overall, original interpretation of the theme. Mechanics reminds of QWOP, octodad, that kind of stuff. Didn't managed to win :D

Really interesting idea. Nice use of the theme.

Just like QWOP, I don't think I could ever get the hang of the mechanics, though.

This is very funny and impressive. I am mainly impressed by how unique and well defined your art style is. It's nice to see something like that in a jam. Well done.

QWOP story mode fighter, well that's a new one!

Well done, I'm amazed you pulled that off just during the jam time. Looks really uniform, and with a sense of umour thrown in. And good spit on the time - small world as in theatre and as in life on arena.

The controls are, amazingly, quite easy to pick up, the fact that you can't just easily smack your face on the ground wad a good idea :) Walking gets quite easy - hold a/d and alternate w/s, though incorporating introduction as tutorial was a great idea, really helps to get into the game.

I can only imagine what nightmare the hitboxes were during development.

Very well done, you definitely have my vote. Very interesting and enjoyable entry.

I was thoroughly entertained by that! I thought the controls were perfect for making me feel like I was puppeteering. Music was awesome.

Fun stuff, really great art and music! My only criticism is that dying and killing both kind of lack impact a bit - they could do with a substantial sound effect or something. It's funny seeing them being dragged up though :)

hahahaha, this had me cracking up. The gameplay is so ridiculous and frustrating, I loved it. It makes me want a 2-player version, where you're impotently trying to score blows on each other, only to accidentally step too close to the opponent and watch all your blood spill out in seconds.

And the animation when dead guys are hoisted up off screen.

So weird, so great.

Very nice art, goes along great with the unwieldy, QWOP-like movement and mechanics. I understand that it is supposed to be this way, yet it seems almost a little too frustrating to try and get a hit on someone, as I ended up either not having enough range and just hitting their (lowered) shield, or plowing into their sword held at their side and dying instantly. Otherwise, I could see this being good fun once I get the hang of movement more, and I agree with the idea of a 1v1 multiplayer sounding really fun and silly!

I loved the creativity and humor of this puppet-style Conan take on the theme. I appreciate the attention to detail of the lighting and the way the curtains moved. Well done! The combat was super challenging - I quite memorably impaled my barbarian against the first opponent's sword even though he was just standing still.

This is so MUCH FUN!!!

And you know, I hate this type of game where you have to run moving legs.

But here with the "strings attached" you made this mechanic work amazing ;-)

Also the soundtrack is AWESOME.

Brilliant take on the theme! This is extremely challenging (and wobbly. My god it's wobbly.:joy:)
I really liked that you even had some story to this. Also, the dead puppets being pulled up out of the scene is a great detail that contributes to this being an extremely well executed jam entry! However, your instructions say 'D': raise left leg, where 'S' raises left leg instead and 'D' is for walking right.

Awesome game, even better considering its a **jam**! Full five stars, I cannot rate less than that in any rating. You actually got me.

Cons? Playing against the bot is kinda boring, because it applies all forces perfectly and it's movement doesn't feel clunky at all (which is the charm of game). Btw, how did you manage to code such a perfect I.A. in such a short deadline? o.O

Oh yeah, and remove the "confirm" button from <Enter/Return>. Why? If you pay attention to player's hands, one is at WASD, and one is at the mouse, there is no free hand to press <Enter/Return> (well... maybe there is if A.I. cuts one).

Loved this. Rated accordingly high!

I did die in the training by walking into the guy's sword by accident. Laughed pretty hard at my misfortune and shame-reloaded the game to play it right.

Nice!

The art and animations are very good. I liked the music, but I don't think it really matched the game because of the anachronism. Interesting fact, the game reminds me of last ludum dare's [Shadow Fencer Theatre](http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-37/?action=preview&uid=20984).

This was absolutely hysterical, so so so well done. The gameplay is nothing alike but a game called "Rock of Ages" comes to mind playing this game, I love the idea of taking medieval style depictions of events and creating games out of them, this was fantastic. Even down to the child that just looks like a small fully grown man, its all perfect.

That was truly awesome. The game was full featured, polished, hilarious as the players are slowly pulled up and off the screen as they die. The facial expression. I am impressed. Only small complaint was the Enter key is nowhere near the other controls, would have prefer just to use mouse click on any key press to continue dialog (small nit). Keep up the amazing work. Awesome!!!

I love seeing innovative and interesting ideas like this coming out of Ludum Dare, it's an original take on the theme, looks great and is very funny. I saw that you guys are continuing to work on this, which I think is a good idea, I'd like to see a gentler introduction to the fighting (I managed to win the first fight after a few goes but I think that might have been luck) and I'd like to see a bit of variety in the moves you can perform. Oh and the music is fantastic, fits brilliantly. Overall this is an amazing entry!

That was thoroughly enjoyable. Im a big fan of Conan and this game did not disappoint. It was great to try such an original concept. I loved how the characters would float up into the air after they were killed.

I had a lot of trouble hitting my opponent with my sword. It kept rising and falling onto his shield. It seemed like I could alter the swing a little by changing my center of gravity, but for the most part the swords arc seemed the same no matter what. Perhaps if conan jabbed forward when youre leaning forward it might be easier.

I like the idea of controlling puppets and your introduction of the controls. (It is a bit confusing that in the Controls section you mention D for both shifting weight and lifting a leg). I was quite bad at the actual fighting. ;) The graphics are very nice, (I also liked the curtains!) but the health bars are unexpectedly basic. ;)

Well done!

Just what I needed after a long day at work. For the timespan that you had to create this, I am impressed. I was already laughing within the first 10 seconds of the game. I found the controls to be more funny than troublesome- maybe because they are puppets and that's how they're supposed to move...but you made it work! Might need some small polish here and there but this would be amazing if further development went into it. Definitely one of my favorite games so far. Keep it up!

Wow!! This is one of my fav games on LD. The whole setup is wonderfully presented. Also love the use of dark humor especially through the 'tutorial' stage.

Easy to grasp, bloody hard to master. I'm amazed you got all this done in such a short time. I couldn't get very far because I sucked.

Only constructive feedback I dare give is with polish on the controls (especially attacking) would make it even better. I really hope you do something with this as I'd defo buy it.

Well done!

OH Loved the curtain swish effect as they close. Nice little touch!

Very, very, very good looking and funny, but the combat mechanics are lacking. The enemy's sword seems to hurt me on contact, even when it's idle, but I can't get mine to hurt the enemy no matter what I do. Every time I land a hit, it feels like random luck. But besides that, the game is pretty darn great! Good job on the art and story!

Love the theme, and the QWOP movement integration. The movement controls didn't feel intuitive really though, but I'm not sure what you could have done to improve that. The sword play felt a bit clunky too. I think if the sword had more weight it would be much improved (because you could easily generate a downswing as well). Overall it was excellent, and I'd come back for more if the combat was a bit more fleshed out. Cheers!

Fun game, funny characters and I did laugh! Fun to play, however the controls and difficulty level did make it a little hard to want to keep playing. All in all, good job!
