Love the game, but W should be jump, not S  , Good work!

so much of nostalgia! 10 points to Gryffindor!
All jokes aside it's very cool and I love the mashup you've made :3 If i had any kind of advice it would have been that use W to jump and S to shoot instead of space, it just lead to a bit of an awkward hand setup if you know what I mean  other than that, good overall game!

I like the mash-up you did here. I really like the SNES-y artwork. I feel like the break should slow the accelaration as oppose to completely stop the bike. However, the mechanics are great. More levels plz!!

A great game - but maybe think about having rebindable keys? The controls were a little odd to get used to at the beginning, since I kept pressing W to jump and falling into spikes - but after I got the hang of it, the game was quite fun.

@Habeeb Mohammed @TIMOTHEUS-25 @Torak Whiteleopard Yeah, makes sense now. It was weird trying to get ExciteBike controls in this. W would have made sense :P haha Thanks for the feedback guys!

@MZA Thanks! If this were a full release, I totally would have gradual slowing. :P

Strange combination - fun gameplay. Well done. It could be a little bit more polished, but it is good enough ++

Clever idea and it was pretty fun. Would be interesting if the bike used physics, would be cool if there were ramps and speedbumps.

@selfsame Thanks! I had ideas for that, but ultimately didn't have the time. I wanted to polish what we had and make the level interesting.

Great Entry! The game has a perfect difficulty, and the controls feel great! The art and sounds are great too! Would have liked to see more objects though, to make the place less empty.

I struggled with the controls a bit, but everything worked as it should. Fits the theme well I think, and I really liked the music. It felt a bit weird to have a dirt bike in a horror castle, but in a good way, so it created a cool atmosphere.

At once I new how to play and what to do- love the feel and the controls. Whenever I died- I knew why- also thanks for the great death particle explosion! I just want a whip to flip around and send me back through the level!!! Thanks! Great job!

Fun concept, and once I got used to the controls I was able to get into the flow of the game. I agree with one of the commenters about braking decelerating the bike rather than sudden stop, and I think the motorcycle should be able to accelerate a bit as well. For the bike side, I'd love to see some trick moves, and for the metroidvania side I want more weapon and enemy types. Solid entry!

Pretty fun! I beat the game! I was amused during my first run I took the bottom passage which is the easiest but when I traversed the portal I realized I didn't beat the game, that's when it hooked me. It lacks general polish (level sounds and music, some acceleration to the motorcycle, make denser the level, showing the score at the final screen...) but it is a cool game! Maybe shooting need to subtract points, to encourage the player to save bullets.

Darn I keep seeing the keys then missing them lol. Simple, but fun, addictive nature. I like the retro feel and I love the massive explosion when you die lol .One criticism is I feel like it would be more intuitive if 's' was for shoot and 'space' was for jump, but that's just me.

25. Apr 2018 · 06:45 UTC
It's fantastic genres mixing, reminds me FF-AC cinematic movie. But for me too boring implementation. Why I shoot insead of using GIANT sword? Very hard to control motocycle - it offen not jumps the pits because jump buttons not works, or I pressed tooooo late (visually not).
Anyway good concept, be coll if you improve it and I'll race the castels on motocycle with awesome sword =)

Unfortunately i couldn't find the patience to get to the end of the game. I think the art and audio for the game goes nicely together and that the overall game play is nice and simple, although that doesn't make it particularly fun (At least for me) and part of that is probably because I didn't really feel like there was much to do and progression in the game pretty much included redoing the course over and over because you didn't hit the jump button at the exact moment , which to me just become monotonous. There were also a fair number of cases where getting launched by the catapults caused me to land on an enemy or to go through the bottom of the level above me and get killed by the spikes and die without really being able to do anything about it mostly because i didn't find using the "Stop" button very intuitive at all as it just took all momentum away from the game when pressed, and i feel like the game would work better without it. Also as others have mentioned the controls could do with being changed either to be rebind-able or at least so that the spacebar is jump since its kinda conventional to almost everyone who has played a game before just to make it more intuitive.

Overall its a cool idea although I wouldn't call it a "racing" game since there is no sense of urgency or any competition involved , its more of an infinite runner and metroidvania where your "Stop" button is pretty much a pause.

This has the potential to become a really good mobile game. It took me a while to get used to it but once I did, it became fun. The art looks really good but I didn't notice that they were skeleton till I read the game page. Some place seems impossible for me where two spike pits exist beside each other with a skeleton in between or may be it is just my slow reflexes. Overall, good game.

This was incredible! I spent way too long trying to beat it but it was tons of fun. I really enjoyed the art and audio, as well as the exploration. Memorizing the patterns almost reminded me of the mine cart level in Donkey Kong Country... My one wish is that you could hold space to shoot, because I think I might just be getting sore from spamming the space bar. Great work!

Oh! Almost forgot to mention: that itch page is a work of art! I love that it blends so well into the game.

One of the funniest mash-up I've seen, it's a very cool idea! The game plays quite well too :)!

Maybe instead of shooting, the biker could have used a whip to push the idea even further? :)

Awesome work. I just wish it had some parallax on the background, and maybe a life bar. One-hit K.O.s ended up making me give up on the game, though I did reach a key at one point.

I didn't really have a problem with the controls as others have, but having only one hit per run and going back to the beginning each time was rough. Checkpoints would probably help. Regardless, the art and music are good and they fit together well. It is an interesting set of games to combine and could make for something pretty cool if you decide to continue work on it. Great job!

Fun idea and well executed!

The only gameplay change I would make is allowing you to hold space to fire, as there is currently no incentive to not hammer space as fast as you can.

Ha ha, this is aweeeeesome! The graphics are fantastic - flashbacks to Excite Bike on the C64. Brilliant idea, I played it for way too long! I hope you build it out further after the compo, with a bit more time on some level design I think could actually be really solid. Man, I'm still laughing, this is great!

You guys nailed the theme with combining these two genres. I would have appreciated a bit more variety in gameplay, but you manage to keep the level interesting for a few.

I did find a few bugs though. When moving up, you could clip through the ceilings, which can cause you to hit spike traps above. Also you can continue to collect coins after you've died.

Great job on the initial idea, would like to see some more polish and greater expansion of the design.

Nice combination of themes, though I agree with the previous comments that multiple speeds for acceleration/braking would be a nice addition. I like the portal at the end, although you seem to lose the key when dying, while the text still says that I have one key.

This is a really fun concept, the title cracked me up! The gameplay and level design are a bit too monotonous IMO and it's cool you can shoot from your bike but the only way to play the level through is to shoot non-stop - why not maybe put in a mechanic that gives you a reason to NOT shoot sometimes? Same with the spike pits: they are way too treacherous IMO ^^# But hey, all in all this is a well-made fun game for 72h, great idea you had and thanks for shating, I enjoyed that :-D
