Fat Panda! by Ethereal Psyche Games

Logo.png

You must save FatPanda, a little fat panda, from Sushipuss, an evil octopuss who wants to feed him to (yes, you guessed it) eat him.

So basically, Sushipuss throws you sushi rolls and you have to jump them. If you don't dogde the food he'll eat it (FatPanda is weak and loves sushi) and he'll be one step closer to his death.

mocukp-ingame.jpg

WAIT! That's not all. Sushipuss will try to distract you (we've already told you he's evil) with puzzles that will complicate your race. But if you prove you're smarter than him by solving his puzzles (while you keep dodging sushi rolls, of course) your intelligence will hit and defeat him (yes, literally, your intelligence hurts him. He's too selfish).

Be smarter than the evil Sushipuss and save FatPanda!

Really cute graphics and music!!! I love those puzzles part, they are simple but interesting to solve. Had a great fun playing it.Hoping to see more puzzles but sometimes it is too strict with the jumping time, especially as the panda is just at the edge of screen.

Great art, big challenge to play, mainly because I have to figure out what to do for a puzzle whilst dying.

The graphics are so cute, but this jumping time is so ungrateful 😩! I encountered a minor UI bug: when the card of "beat the element" shows up, the left eye of the octopus is over it. I wish I took a screenshot to show it.

Good job! The artistic part and the audio part give a good touch to the game (I really liked the parallax effect). The gameplay in general is fine. Although the jump is very limited.Good work.

try our game too! :)

Hey, I won :D For me the biggest challenge was to simply jump over the sushi at the right time. Among the puzzles the most distracting one was with the lights off, that's where you really need to solve it asap, but the other ones weren't really that occupying. Anyways, the game's great, nice work!

I love the art style!

As others said, maybe the jump seems a bit weird, doesn't feel right. But the idea is cool and the game feels complete and whole. Good work! :)

Love the art style! It's a great idea but I struggled reading and solving the challenges for the first time. Especially when the screen goes dark and you can only see your Panda.

Great entry!

Really fantastic art style. I wish the hit boxes on the enemies were a little smaller. The way that the puzzles make you split your attention is interesting. Great work!

Really great work! The art and music are top-notch, and the gameplay works well.

There was a bit too much time between the puzzles (I never got to the second one), and especially in the beginning; it's a bit confusing since you have no idea what the 'solve puzzles' means.

Love the idea with the minigames/puzzles triggering in the middle of obstacle jumping, adds to the challenge and gives the game some fun variety.

The music is great and the graphics have a wonderful clean style :)

A very clean artstyle and and idea that works really well :)
I didn't manage to get to the end but I'll try again !

The only feedbacks I could give is that I think the game may need to be a bit more dynamic, it's a bit slow for me :) Maybe also try to have more control in the jump (the more you press, the more you jump) because i'ts one of the key genres :)

Great job overall :)

Gorgeous graphics and lovely audio. Mixing runner with quizz is a nice idea, resulting in an enjoyable experience. As told before, maybe the jump lacks of something smoother and the sushi hitboxes are a little bit too big. Sometimes the game generate unavoidable patterns.

Awesome work ! Congratulations !

Just had an issue with sushi generation (sometimes appearing too close from each others)

Good job on the art part, your graphics makes your game look pretty polished for a jam game ! The rythme of the gameplay and movements of the character is a little bit slow maybe, but overall nice adaptation of the theme.

Music is so point!! And the art is really nicely put together and suits the game. The two genres are made more difficult through being combined, so I think your game is good for the theme. Would have liked to see more minigames, as I found them all interesting to do whilst keeping an eye on fat panda and his requirements!! good work all!!

very nice! reminded me of wario ware - the jumping seemed a bit.. well, jumpy samey? But it was fine over all and the mini games were perfect - would love to see more! :)

Great art style, characters are very cute. And I like the mechanic, you have to focus at 2 tasks at once but at the same time its not that hard but still has some challenge. GJ!

Cute little game, love the sushi characters they're probably my fave part of the whole game! The jumping is kind-of wonky, it feels too floaty when you're supposed to be a fat panda

Art is 5/5 fantastic art/character designs and animations, music fits well with the Japanese asthetic and mood. I like the concept and you combined two genre well the mouse minigames were more creative than the jumping though. my problems are sometimes the sushi are so close together you can't dodge any of them and you lose two lives. I also agree with the other comments the jumping feels off but I dont know exactly why.

Jumping can be almost frustrating from time to time, since the spawn of the enemies can be tricky :) And I was also hopping to get bit more puzzles. I guess it would be great to expand this with more levels, bosses and music tracks. I have left the Art on the end because Art is definitely your selling point :) Really good job guys! Thank you for this experience

Great graphics! its a nice idea for a game but I feel like the jump was a bit to hard to get right, also 2 sushi spawned and I couldnt jump over them. Really lovely art style though, music was nice too!

Fantastic game! It took a few moments to get used to but once you're there it's tons of fun ^_^ I agree that an endless runner with different octopuses would have been neat but alas such is a Jam. Graphics were splendid, especially the cute maki. >:3

Really amazing entry!

The visuals and audio are top notch, and the game is fun! Some animation/feedback/polish before the minigames would be cool, but it works well anyway!

Would love to see a post-jam version!

Beautiful aesthetics! I think this panda looks more like a Pug to me, but I like pugs so that's fine by me. I was TERRIBLE at this game, jumping and solving problems with the mouse is pretty much impossible for me. But I am super impressed with the art design and music. SO CUTE!

A very well polished game! Loved the artwork in particular! I found the jumping a little hard, especially since the hitboxes semed unforgiving. Well done though, a very good entry!
