Space Time: a short platformer about getting to the end of the level making sure you don't run out of space to stand, view and shoot on things

Space Time is a short platformer game created by an unknown programmer on a very ancient computer. Since the amount of space on the computer is too low to incorporate the entire game, the developer originally decided to decrease the viewing space of the player as time progresses. The developer wrote it on his game design document that the machine had too little space to render the entire screen for the entire gameplay duration. Don't worry! you can still collect few gold coins to increase the viewing space of the player. And oh: According to another point mentioned under the "How I optimised this game" section: Looks like some of the grounds are also programmed to break after the player stands too long to make sure too many block elements are not stored in the computer's memory at a given time. Can you still use these constrains to help the poor player reach the castle?

The art style is great! The bounce design of bullets killed me for at least 10 times (no.....) Just a little suggestion then. I think that enabling jump in the air makes the input more smooth (still 1 jump per time) because the player is running toooooo fast, it is easy to get out of the platform.

Very cool and hard game. The music, chromatic abrasion, and motion blur really set the fast paced mood! Although I have two suggestions: ESC is an awkward restart key and is kind of annoying to have to click so often (because I died a lot), and also a character animation would do the game some good. Great Work overall though! Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you looked at my team's game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/crumble-1

also it says I can't rate your game because only participants can I am a participant and have rated other games

Nice game, I sometimes fell though the floor, and the pacing was a little too much for me to handle but otherwise solid 3.5/5

hate platformers where you have to aim where you jump, but this one is really great. i enjoyed the OST very much (my friend didn't haha), and i think it really stresses the hardcoreness and fun of this game. it's like tiny super meatboy with a gun maybe.

Little hard-core-ish bet very enjoyable! Love the music, it gives the game that feeling that you need to rush it to the end. Nice entry!

I really enjoyed the non-conventional jump and movement mechanics. Very refreshing.

The jump was a bit insane, and with the high speed and acceleration the controls felt a bit too loose- it was hard to control, especially the parts where you get the very small blocks. Sometimes I just passed through the ground blocks instead of stopping and that was very game-breaking.

Hey! Feedback coming from ArjenDesign's stream: www.twitch.tv/arjendesign just now!
- Cool soundtrack!
- How do the spikes work? How can I get past them? A bit unclear in the beginning. Instructions on how to shoot came from the stream (as you know). Might be important to include them in the ingame instructions :D
- I fell through blocks a few times, is that suppose to happen?
- I like that the game dares me to jump without fear xD
- Very interesting game!

Nice entry! This one is hard to rate. First of all the music and the visual effects are really cool! But meanwhile, the controls and limited screen space make it really hard to play. But that's also where its magic is. It feels very claustrophobic which fits the theme really well. So it needs some work but it is also very well done! haha

The graphics and music were good! I feel like this is one of those games that's intended to be difficult, which makes it hard to criticize the controls. That said, even for that sort of platformer, I felt like the controls were loose and didn't feel particularly fun. I think if you tightened up the actual controls, that would allow you to put in more interesting, precise, challenges.

Challenging game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/RBBzpxy2bdA
