It took a while to get the hang of the game. The art was great; I really liked the voxel style to it. Sadly, the game has an inconsistent bug that ended the game instantly, at random times.

Not bad the idea tha you can spawn units in the four directions, good job (despite the bug of random defeat)

A really polished game. I like the voxel-based aesthetic a lot. I think it jells well with the neon hues you added for different ingame objects. I also like the choice of background music during the game. However, I think the game needs some balancing though, since I can stall out a lane's medium/heavy units just by sending light units at it. I think some more variation on units other than HP would make the game more tactically interesting. Overall, a great entry though!

Great entry. Loved the art, the background music, the sfx and the gameplay.

Good game! I really loved the art and mood. Nice that you included sound. I'm not sure I understood the mechanics but I was able to win. I did like the 4-lanes mechanic, I had to pay attention to them all. It seemed that the AI mostly just spawned things on lane 1 though? Or was just the RNG? Anyway, good job!

A nice little game. The gameplay is of course quite simple, but I think it works really well. Perhaps the game is a little bit too easy, though.

The graphics work really, really well in this context and the idea of walking down four sides of a little planet is brilliant.

The sounds are rather basic, but I think this is not a bad thing at all. The music in the background sets a good tone for the battle.

Overall, I enjoyed this entry.

Really nice looking game. Fits the theme perfectly. The four lane mechanic is pretty solid. I found it easy to win by evenly spamming the four lanes and then shoring up the weak spots. I think I'd like this more with multiple enemies on the planet (say, 4 or even 6), then I'd have to manage my lanes more carefully.

I won the game in like a minute, the noob AI can't comprehend a zerg rush!

Good idea with the lane attacks approach, I had fun with it. I also really liked the aesthetic; the towers were great! It did indeed have a bug that caused instant game over that I encountered a few times. Also, I agree that the game needs some balancing: The medium units have the same cost as the light, and as the AI for me tended to focus on one lane, it was easy to spam light units, take the Medium upgrade, and then win by spamming mediums to all lanes. Perhaps cost adjustment and/or resource regeneration speed adjustment would make the choices you make in which units you send and where you send them feel more important. Overall, very fun, thanks for your game!

This is most likely a Linux bug, but I was unable to unlock neither medium nor heavy units. The unlock button was always lit up, but I couldn't press it... Actually, the camera would reset when I tried to click anywhere. Which leads me to point 2...

Using Unity's input system is a big plus! :ok_hand: But the choice of the suicide button being 'S' kinda back fired there... And the you ignored it for the rest of the inputs... :slight_frown: I was also unable to rotate the camera with the mouse or zoom in with the keyboard... Luckily, I didn't have to zoom it at all, so this wasn't a real issue, but still...

As others, I was also able to win simply by spamming light units. (kinda a necessity in my case, because of the aforementioned bug)

Still, all in all, I must congratulate y'all in finishing something and polishing it! It may be unbalanced, and I may have had issues (probably because of Linux ), but acknowledging when to stop and start finishing the game is quite a skill on itself... and you did great in this!

Beautiful entry and I enjoyed playing it. I think it needs more balancing, because I won just by placing Light Units and never built a Medium or Heavy units. There is some random Defeat bug too, that got me thinking I was the blue team af first. Nice job, guys!

Really liked the art style, and found the concept neat. A fun LD entry. :)

Unique mechanics. The visuals are great. I think 8 directions instead of 4 would make the game a bit more challenging.

Great graphics, but the gameplay was extremely limited... You could win by spamming any unit type in any direction. Great idea for the theme!

Very nice game! It took me a minute to learn how it works, I'd suggest starting at a closer zoom level, at first I just spammed units without looking at what the enemy threw at me.

****What I Liked:****

* The graphics were great! The voxels fit the game well, and I especially loved the design of the towers.
* I appreciated the detail with the world.
* The music was simple and the atmospheric instrumentation was fitting.
* I liked the 4 lanes system, as well as the 3 tiers. It forced you to try and save your money, while surviving at the same time.

****Minor Nitpicks:****

* I think that cooler colors are usually seen as the "good guys", while warmer colors are usually seen as the "bad guys". These were reversed here, which was confusing at first.

****Great job and thanks!****

Unfortunately the game did not want to start, did not respond to the space, but looks great: D

The keyboard commands were very helpful. Cool concept, I made sure to tell everyone around me about it :D

Thanks for the game!

Nice graphics (world and units) ! Fun game.

I think it would be better if the upgrade for medium was cheaper than heavy. Because it is useless to make the medium upgrade now.

I found it fairly easy to purchase heavy (the same price as medium) and summon endless amounts of heavy soldiers, with the same spawn price as light. incredibly unbalanced, which is a shame, for it could've been a lot of fun with a few tweaks.

It looks pretty, but the gameplay still needs a lot of work. It would have been nice if there was different difficultly levels. The units seem to pretty much be the same by walking in a straight line to the enemy base. The units should probably also have differing costs to construct based on the type of unit. There seemed to be a bug when I pressed escape, it said press escape to unpause but it didn't do anything. The models looked pretty, but the animations could be improved. I liked the bright stylistic health bars.

The game has great graphics, but you can complete the game sending the low soldiers in each row so fast, because you have 5 resources almost every 2 secs. If you'd had more time to improve the difficulty curve, I'm sure it wouldn't be so easy. Anyway, nice job!

Graphically, the game looks very good! The idea is neat and the game plays/runs well which should also be recognized. Mood is good, but the experience was a little clumsy with the camera/checking the lanes.

Nice graphic and game, but maybe too easy! You don't have to unlock the heavy to win.

Loved the graphics, soundtrack and sound effects. Looking around the world with the mouse its also very easy.

The one thing I didn't like was the way you spawned your units ... I would prefer to have hotkeys like 1, 2, 3 and then click with the mouse on the lane I wanted for them to appear. The reason for this change is that I spent half of the time looking at the buttons instead of what was really happening on the map. Spawning units should be a very easy and fast process.

Apart from the spawning mechanic I loved this game ... good job!

The graphics are good and the concept is as well, but I died three times for no apparent reason. polish it up a bit and maybe revamp the controlls and it could be a really good game.

A cubic planet! We alse made one :D Check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/waterever

The spawning system was not quite convenient. @mordokay 's suggestion was great. And there was some problem with the AI, it seemed like the enemies all came from the 4-lane?

Anyway, nice work!
