Ode to Resilience by Xarras

*With robot voice* Welcome to my storytelling lab, where my words will become as vivid as the floor you are standing on right now, where you will feel every letter as if it was real.
Today the story is about a young little rabbit that will need to endure the struggles of it’s fate and become a greater self.
This is what you need to know to play Ode to resilience:
Controls:
A-D/arrows: movement
space bar: jump
How to play: (platformer)
Reach the end of the "poem" (about 4min)
The floor is made out of words, but pay attention to their meaning, for they might get literal (fire burns lol).
Note: An IA didn't write the ode, otherwise it would be less of a madness.
Thanks for playing!

Get a really good narrator, some nice and mellow background music, come up with a more "poetic" poem and this will be a really good piece of art. Animations are amazing, don't touch them!
Extra points for creativity, although I wasn't able to see the connection to the theme. Good job! :)
Kinda soft locked the game when I jumped on a "dash" slightly under the top part of the word (I dashed against the word and couldn't move afterwards)
Still glad I played this! Good Job!
However, the game has some issues, so let me give you the feedback on that:
- Collisions on platforms (words). This is the same mistake I made in my first platforming game - you need to make sure that player doesn't get stuck if it jumps on the very corner of collision, from which the only way leads down (can't jump up anymore). This can be prevented by making a little bit smaller collision boxes, adding more verticles to them on corners or other ways - depending on how you want to do it. I really recommend you to do some research on this!
- The voice saying things out loud is fun, but it quickly gets behind - I reach the words before they are being spoken - and it could be better if it played again after I died and got back to the checkpoint.
- My biggest issue involved the innovation of the project - last Ludum Dare had an entry very similar to this which got to a higher place. This could serve as an inspiration, but it would be better if you build on top of that idea instead of just repeating it :)
Overall, a good try, I think the most issues can be fixed pretty easily. Good luck in the jam!

but it is very difficult with the font and all. I think you found a great font for this kind of game, really good job!!!! I thought the color of the text could give some indication for whether it is dangerous or a boost too.. still, it is a design choice, just my opinion. Also, add some check points if you can, otherwise itd become a bit of a rage game
Maybe it's me, but I could not find what words would cause the rabbit's death, but maybe that's the idea. A little polish, sound background audio, and this could be a very nice app.
I just miss an actor voice ;)
Anyway good job !
There is I guess a little bug after the word pitfall where you dash until the word "home" I never could reach "home". And I retried several time I always stop dashing before it and I fall.
Dunno if I did something wrong or else but it is a nice little game.
well done.
