This poor caterpillar is living in such a small world, hoping to one day explore the sky. It's up to you to make sure it can follow its dreams! A game about chomping leaves, made with Construct 2. Use left and right arrows to move, avoid ants, catch leaves. Pretty calming.

Audio made with bfxr and music generator.

Hmm... I feel like this one needs a little more depth. I like the endgame goal of trying to eat enough leaves to transform into a butterfly and escape, but the gameplay itself is a bit lacking. I do like the art though!

This was pretty darn cute, I have to say. The music and art gave this game a very relaxed and innocent mood. The movement was alright, though it seemed sometimes that I didn't move exactly where I was trying to. Aside from that, my only concern is that it was pretty short. Maybe making the game restart with increased movement would have helped with that? Anyway, nice work.

If you're interested, I have an entry set a little further into the sky for you to check out.

There are some really nice animations in this game, I liked that the ants walked away. I also liked the leaf chomping and the crawling animations. The crawling animation and the objects falling could have been more fluid I feel. I'm not quite sure why the ants were falling from the sky.
I do like that it is a complete game, it has a start and an end state.
Way to go.

Gameplay didn't feel that responsive, art was nice, music was a little annoying.

Beautiful game. Actual gameplay was simple and somewhat lacking, but the art was pretty. Once you turn into a butterfly, you can still use arrow keys to move sideways, causing your sprite to become a caterpillar.

So much cute it fills my eyeballs to the brim! I want to see a sequel from the perspective of the ants, making death-defying leaps to chomp the food right out of some hapless caterpillar.

Awesome artwork, and sfx and music are really good too. Though the gameplay is simple it has a really nice atmosphere and mood. A short game, but a good game. good job!

Nice small arcade type game. The caterpillar movement could be smoother. Maybe it would be cool to add some powerups and a two player mode.

Its a good game. The art is really good and the music is cheerful and fits the mood. The only bug(pun intended) I found is you can turn back into a caterpillar if you push the arrows in the end.

Really short game. The movement was really choppy and I think I ended up flying off the screen a few times and it had to reset. I also got injured long after the ants had left.

This game was really short, but pleasant. The graphics and the sound design made me relaxed, while the stiff controls and the ants hitboxes upset me. This game reminded me of a Game & Watch game with updated graphics, which is good!

It looks really nice for a compo entry. I've read some comments about the game not being very deep but if that isn't what you intended, then this game is what it is. My primary concern is that I think there's a strange mismatch between the fact that the ants smoothly simulate while the player character moves like an old LCD handheld game. It makes it difficult to control and results in not being sure what my move is going to do exactly. After I became a butterfly, I pressed left and became a caterpillar again and the game seemed stuck.
