Well done! Played and enjoyed on a Mac. The art is beautiful, I love the colors, and I like how it walks you through the gameplay (i.e., "Two Pair", fading out cards that are out of reach, the boss arrow). I wish I understood the health mechanic a little better though.

If you don't mind, could you please take a look at [our submission](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/gunslngr5000)? It's also a pixel-art card game mashup with a boss, how funny

nice art! and it was really fun trying to actually beat it! Took me a few goes but I got the hang of it and showed that monster who's boss! Great implementation!

Very cool. Took me a while to get the hang of it. It wasn't immediately obvious to me that the purple rock reset the board. When I first played, I was a bit confused about how to submit my hand, I didn't realize I needed 5 cards (seems obvious now). I haven't beaten it after a few tries, but I think he concept it really cool. Nice pixel art, it fits well. Hope to see this on the App Store some day!

If you click the play button several times, different games start, so there are different static players on the board and the life is apparently non finite, so it was easy to beat the game. Actually that happened during my 4th run. If you leave a level with a non played hand it disappear, but the arrows pointing the monster are still there. Maybe attacks could be automatic if the hand is full when changing floors. I miss a purpose for the coins, other possible objects and music and sounds.

Very beautiful art and really solid game. You are aiming for phones, maybe?

Thank you all so much!

@le-slo I'd love to see this on mobile, and I certainly had that in mind when I decided on the scope and format. I'll see if I can make it happen sometime. :) Excellent feedback, thank you!

Cool idea, lovely graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7llm9eTY4YI

This is a really cool game. With a little sound this would make a supper addictive mobile game. I would make it a little more obvious which blocks will damage you.

Thanks a lot @theamazingb! Right now the beast attacks every 3rd turn, and that's a really interesting way of describing the experience. 🙌🏻

Pretty innovatin idea. Had a nice time, replayed 4 times. High combinations could be more rewarding ^^

I had fun playing this poker game. I liked how you could pick your own combinations. And it was nice that you had to prioritize which hands you would have to play.

I liked the concept a lot, and the art too :)
One good improvement would be to implement a more "intelligent" way to generate the cards and always have some combination (even if it's shitty) in order to reward the player for careful examination of the board. Some sound effects would also go a long way.

This is great! I made a poker game too but took a much more straightforward approach - I really like your twist on it here. Looks awesome too. One of my favourites so far.

That is a really fun and gorgeous looking little game! I was thinking about doing a card based rpg kind of game also, so I am glad to see someone did it and probably way better than I would have.

You made Rogue Poker I made Rogue Race instead. ;)

This really hit the right nerves for me! The gameplay is really good and though I first felt it's a bit too random and difficult, it proved to be just right. Excellent job!

One of my favorite entries, ever. Super fun and super satisfying, its bite-sized feel disguises a really interesting take on the roguelike formula. It's not the most polished entry in the world, but what's there is really charming. I could see myself spending hours on this with a few more wrinkles. If you ever put this out on phones it would definitely earn a spot in my 'evergreen' folder snuggled next to Downwell and Super Hexagon. Love it!

Loved it. At first I was finding it really hard but then I realised I could move diagonally (d'oh!) and won my very next game. Exceptionally well done to have worked out all the mechanics, balancing, and such in the jam time. Good stuff :8ball:

Awesome entry, very polished and fun! Great idea too. Too bad I don't know poker hands, I was mostly guessing.

Loved the game. The concept is well made and the art is nice! The sound is terribly missing as the game is well done! Your game has a lot of potential!

Really cool idea, however I think it'd be better wtih maybe 7 and up since there's too many combinations it was difficult to make a hand with anything more than pretty boring things like a pair or occasionally two pair.
Maybe add a way to restore health (cards in the suit of hearts perhaps?) maybe each suit could do something different, spades/clubs does more damage, diamonds gives more points? not sure.

Good idea, great graphics, gameplay works well! However it's really really difficult, I know roguelikes are supposed to be difficult but it would be nicer if there was a way to dodge the attacks somehow. It also seems to be lacking sound effects which is a shame. This would work great as a mobile game!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

Nice game! Interesting concept, there's already a little of strategy of what to do on each board to get through with less movement possible and leave right away, getting the most of each board. It's a nice polished game too, gratz!

Very fun mechanics and nice graphics. Too bad there's no sound. Could be a great standalone game with some replayability added (with help of additional tools!).

Nice mechanic and theme. I think it would be a bit better if the hands played against the boss heads-up, but besides that, it was pretty fun. Nice graphics too.

Awesome combination! Love graphics and colors set. It'll be even better with sound, though =) I guess you can just release it on mobiles =)
