Avaricious Abyss by DreamingDice

[raw]
made by DreamingDice for LD 38 (JAM)

Controls: Left Mouse button: click on different areas in the world to move. click on an enemy or human house to attack them (player moves to them and attacks them on his own, only one click necessary) All skills are passive, hover over them to see what they do!

description: The world has been broken, creating small, separated pockets of life known as "Shards". These shards are disconnected from each other and on top of that, have allowed the entryway to twisted souls and abominations from far away realms. As one of them, you must eradicate the humans who dare attempt to close said rift, in an attempt to reconstruct their world. Because of the nature of shards, your form is not stable. Eliminating other creatures such as yourself will allow you access to powerful new forms, that tho temporary, shall bestow immense power upon you that will aid you in finishing off the humans.

Opt-Out: Graphics. Art was bought from the unity store for the game (all music was made by our team tho)

I like your music

I noticed two minor points while playing:
- I think your ability bar is not working correctly, when I click on it, the character moves to where I clicked instead of activating the ability.
- When I play as the ghost (missile combat) enemies I attack don't realize that I am there.

Hi @arcticmattekar

Hrmm... it's a little hard to figure out where to go to progress. The first few times I played, I would encounter some really hard enemy that I would have no chance to kill and just die. One time, I got kinda far on the ranged attack with movespeed passive character, and found a human house and destroyed it, and then I found another one, but couldn't kill the humans fast enough (they kept spawning) and then something reverted me back to level 1 and I died. The gameplay mechanics seem to make sense, but combat seems pretty difficult and I don't know how to destroy houses if there are too many humans.

I like your music a lot! (Shameless plug, please check out and rate [my game] (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/spike-spire), I made the music myself too!)
