Nice game. The egg chase almost feels futile, when you start jumping you almost never get it.

Doing nothing and just evading obstacles would be a sure fire way to a high score :)

I really liked the graphics. The gameplay could have been a bit better.

The game started a bit unexpectedly. A menu or something like that would've been nice. Also, I couldn't find out how to restart after I died. After that, the gameplay was okay. I think it was sometimes a bit hard to see what part of hazards would damage you. I still did have some fun with the game though.

The egg going around the world was a little frustrating as it went a bit quickly, but still a nice mechanic.

I liked the season system! I just didn't live long enough to really experience it.

This was a pretty good game with nice sounds and cool animations. But there were some things that could have been done better for the gameplay. The first time I played (in the browser) I got totally destroyed in the beginning because I was unlucky enough to get 3 snowballs hit me and I lost. Then I tried to restart the game after I died and i didn't find any function that did that so I had to refresh. But after that I understand to start moving directly at the start of the game. So I would recommend making a retry button so that people don't have to refresh the browser when they die.

The music was a bit enervating but at least it got some music so that is a plus. But all in all a very fun little game.

Sure, I'll add a restart button.
Feels like "the most requested feature" haha. I'll probably also be balancing the game now.

What a terrifying world to live on for the blue guy. I liked the dirt on the camera when you get hit, that was a nice bit of polish. My high score was 870 died by landing in some fire. Music was a little shrill maybe the volume of it need to be turned down a bit? Solid entry good job. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole

The animations are really nice and the movements smooth (ok, you already know about the restart button :))
I found interesting that, unlike other small worlds, yours doesn't rotate, so that you are forced to run upside down, adding challenge.
The seasons are also an interesting feature, I would change bullets appearance more, to match the season. And, as a last thing, more focus and more visible stats on how long you are surviving, during gameplay also. This would be motivating and using months would be more meaningful than the only score. Good job!

Cute entry! I appreciated the graphics. Maybe you need to insert a restart button! Anyway, good job! :)

Yes, A Restart button will be added. I'm currently asking @pov if I'm allowed to do that without changing it to "Post-LD".

@endurion The Egg is a score booster and catching it is the hardest part of the game, and yes surviving is a sure way to get highscore. Thanks for the comment!

@florian-van-strien I got an interesting fact for you, I ended up spending 12 hours on a game and just, tossed it away as I didn't really like it. So I couldn't really focus on the polish that much and basically spend all my time building systems, sorry about that. Thank you for giving me your time by playing the game and writing about it!

@svarttand Yes a restart button :), thanks for checking out the game!

@those-30-ninjas Currently checking out your game :) and I'll be changing those things if I'm allowed to without changing the game to "Post-LD". A huge thanks!

@tommyflower Woah! A ton of advice! If I make a Post-LD version I'll of course follow em! Thanks for the kind words :). Thanks mate.

@zaibakk Thanks a lot dude! I owe you one :)

Hey, it's a fun game! Sometimes it's hard to avoid obstacles, but the game is still interesting to play. The graphics looks simple and very good, no bugs for me : it works perfect. Yes maybe you could have added a restart button with high score system to keep the players trying to beat their scores! Overall a good compo entry!

Fun game! I was able to score 2520 points on fifth approach. I like graphics, looks very polished. Eggs were tricky and almost always chasing them wasn't great idea. It's better to stay and avoid and after some time they will approach you.
Blue balls are tough, they are fast it is harder to avoid them but it was good challenge.
Really good job on your game, I wish I could make better art for my game. Also I love the weather idea, it's fresh!
Good lucK!

Fun game to play. The graphics were awesome and the changing of the seasons was very noticeable and very well made. Controls are very simple to grasp from the start. I feel like the music doesn't really fit with the game (but that is just my opinion).
One thing I would add was a restart button when you lost (maybe I didn't find it?). I had to refresh the page a lot of times to play again.
Overall a very cool game and a good take on the theme.

The game is pretty fun! The music is kind of weird in my opinion, but the graphics are neat and I like the different obstacles you need to avoid!

Nice small game. I wouldn't like to life on this planet haha. I'm not going to request a restart button, as everyone else already did ;) It's awesome that you made this just by yourself! Really cool.

that is one hard game.
but its a really nice game, the audio fits it, the graphics were cute.
the movement is smooth,
great game overall.
(and like everyone else was saying, a restart button would be neat).

I liked this a lot, just a really fun arcade style game, with adorable art to boot! It does get a bit boring after a while though, if some monsters chased the player and you could only kill them by lining up the space debris, it would be really cool! Well done!

The art is awesome. I agree with the poster above about monsters chasing the player. That would add more depth for sure. It seemed like the egg changed directions when you did so the only way to catch it was by waiting for it to get near you and going after it before it starts to turn. Nice job!

It's a good game for a compo jam. The art looks nice and animations too. You did details (like dirt on camera) that make game better. The game is interesnting and have differents objects to interact that makes the game more complex.

The only thing I dont really like was music, it is strident for the kind of the game and annoying me during the gameplay.

Anyway, good compo jam!

Interesting game, the art style is really cute, I think the music could have been toned down a bit! But overall, this is great work for a compo entry!

Nice game for a compo ^^
The music is a bit annoying after 5-6 restarts ^^
Graphics are really nice and the gameplay is fun ! Good job for that.

I don't see a restart button or key, I always use F5, how to restart the game ?

My best score is arround 1280pts in 35 seconds.

Pretty interesting ideea, i feel like the music is kinda alarming and loud at the start, i use headphones and it made me jump a second when i started the game , the gameplay is simple and to the point, avoid falling stuff gather eggs survive , the graphics are also pretty nice , but i feel like the character is out of place , maybe its just me.

Disaster from the sky! Here’s the quick rundown of my thoughts:

PROS
- Controls are smooth

CONS
- Game starts without input
- Game ends with no way to restart
- Music seems unfitting?

I feel like the donkey chasing the carrot...only I'm blue...and not-at-all-donkey-shaped, and it's not a carrot, it's a red...thing. Apart from that I think the analogy works really well.

This is an impressive HTML game! A restart would have been nice and the audio was quite harsh - not sure the music fits the mood but now I'm just nit-picking!

Well done.

Let's see here. I think this is a very simple but solid game, challenging but not frustrating or overly harsh.
The change of seasons and hazards was a nice little touch, it made the world feel a little more alive, and gave the game an identity, something that defines it and makes it stand out, which is extremely important.
As others before me have remarked, there are some blemishes here and there, I personally found the abrupt start of the game to be the biggest issue.
That being said, you worked alone and had to do everything in 72 hours, so I'd say this is actually a rather impressive result.
Well done, especially with the controls, they feel fluid and responsive, a must for any game that wants to be hard but fair. All in all I think you did a great job.

Simple but effective. Controls are smooth and the mechanic simple. There is more to the graphics than it looks like at the beggining. The "egg" seems difficult to catch but also a good reason to keep you moving. Congrats!

Didn't read rest of the comments, so this might be highly repetitive, but negatives first:

* seasons change too often and too suddenly

* I got hit several times right after start

* I'm not such a huge fan of the music :)

* had to reload the page to restart, luckily it's very quick to load

and onto positives:

* I like the idea with seasonal change, just would make them last longer.. and perhaps differentiate them a bit more

* nice coherent graphics as far as I can tell

* controls felt good and it was fun to run/jump around

Overall good work on completing a game!

This is a challenging game! It would be better if I could restart the game without refreshing the page because I die a lot.
The winter season with the Ice balls are particularly deadly, on my second try I died in 3 seconds because immediately 3 Ice balls spawned above me. Also some kind of damage immunity after getting hurt would be nice. Not a big fan of the music, but the platforming feels nice.

Neat game. Well done on your gravity/character control, that part felt perfect. The audio needs work though, the music was a bit much while wearing headphones ><

Liked the graphic style alot. Gameplay was pretty difficult though! I never could get to the red thing on the other side? Maybe that was by design though, because occasionally new ones spawned that it seemed like I could get. Itch.io kept wanting to scroll the page when I tried to control game x.x not exactly your fault though.
