Anatomically Drunk by Moczan

[raw]
made by Moczan for LD 42 (COMPO)

My second Ludum Dare entry, Anatomically Drunk, is a survival horror for Playstation 1 about a drunken guy fighting his nightmares except it's not a survival horror and not for Playstation 1.

This LD my priority was to play with 3D graphics and finally take a stab at doing some audio. After years of making almost soundless, 2D games it's time to move out of the comfort zone! The first day and a half I've played with procedural animation, posting every step of the process on Twitter (@mrmoczan). That was really fun experience but I actually had to make a game out of it, so I've created a simple physics based game were you control not-so-cooperating character and have get rid of some basic shapes. The game doesn't really match the Theme, but it was a fun weekend nevertheless! Enjoy!

Well the name is definitely accurate... lol. Kinda fun but like you said it didn't really match the theme.

Are you randomising start positions? Because at the start of stage 4 I literally started off the map and fell to my death... which I guess is authentically drunk behaviour, lol.

Good effort, and weirdly fun though!

Really Really liked this! it was fun, The pixel effect was really cool. All the sounds were on point as well.

I made it to stage 8 before I ran out of time :( haha! Great Job!

This was a neat idea, and pretty fun to play. Had an issue where, a couple of times, a level would start, then immediately give me a game over message.

It is pretty fun, the only thing I would say is that it may have been easier to see where we are going if the camera was rotating with the character.

Laughed out loud playing it. Loved the animation. The screen shake and limited controls were a great fit for the drunken theme.

Great game! It is hilarious to watch the little guy stumble around flailing wildly. I thought that the music was also really well suited to the game, a bit mellow. The one thing that tripped me up while playing was the fact that when the level changed my character was still wandering in the direction that he was on the previous one, causing me to immediately go off the ledge. Other than that this was a great Ludum Dare game and I had a lot of fun with it.

@mrnyarlathotep no, the character just keeps walking even when the camera is off the playing field :P

Good graphics and a good amount of fun. You did a nice job on the ragdoll physics. Fun game overall!

Very cool! It's suprisingly satisifying when you get a good punch in. :)

That was some cool physics out there. Even with the controls being weird at first they dont feel clunky, it was really well implemented.

intersting way to make a character move, a couple things though that you could change:
-i wasn't really feeling like i was in control of the character movement, i know that's what you were going for but when i started looking at the character's feet i played much better, so maybe add a ring or effect there.
-i died during stage transition because you don't reset the transform of the player each stage.

I loved this game! It's not really theme fitting (I was not running out of space) but it's really fun!
I managed to find a bug. At Stage7, my character simply disappeared (screenshot attached)

Despite the rag doll physic the controls feel great and hitting the block feels so juicy, progress each level is so intoxicating*

I have to check how you did the movement. Interesting game. You hit the mood with the music.
