Bug Fix

On 5/6/2017 I pushed one small bug fix to address lag issues. I changed the snow particles from 3d spheres to 2d boxes and this seems to have helped address some of the lag people are experiencing.

Creative and fun. Nevermind it's your first time doing LD, this is a great game

Pretty cool, especially for 1st LD! WebGL build is a bit laggy, I assume because you render the scene 2 times for that PIP (picture in picture) view. Would be pretty cool to expand the game with some rare items you can't easily get.

Nice little effort for a single person, wasn't much to the game but it worked well! Keep at it!

Hmm It does seem a bit laggy under windows. It runs buttery smooth under linux. Guess I should have tested that a bit.

Interesting. I assume that you should use something else to simulate snow. For this reason, the WebGL lags - you invoke too many polygones just for this FX. The gameplay is simple, but it could be fun for kids. This is your first LD? Great. And no! This is not DevilDagger :)

Smart idea! The webgl worked well for me in chrome. I think my snowman looks pretty dope!

YES I WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN! I've been playing slenderman so much I thought something crazy was gonna pop in my face. This is great. Yeah the graphics need some polishing, but you're onto something here and I could see this game going a million different directions. Would love to see a polished version! Nice to be able to take a break from shooting games and play something like this. Congrats!

I WANT A BANANA FOR A NOSE. Why can't I have a banana for a nose? What kind of an oversight is that? If you're going to let me build a snowman then why, oh why, can't I have a banana for a nose?

:grinning:

To answer the question in the title of the game...my answer is simple:

Yes. But only if I can have a banana for a nose. If I can't then then answer is absolutely NOT because building a snowman without a banana for a nose is ludicrous.

Nice work on this - it plays well and does exactly what you would expect...except for one GLARINGLY OBVIOUS MISTAKE....you can probably guess where I'm going can't you...I'll give you a hint - it involves a nose and a banana.

Hey, I liked this game. The implementation is not the smoothest, but it's there. The concept itself its fun and does have good humor.

Yup, congratulations for the game!

Funny Game! You should add colliders to the houses. I am also not sure if you have the movement and look Inputs multiplyed by Time.deltaTime (to make it independent of the FrameRate). In my opinion adding some animations would be the next step (unity provides super easy systems to do that). Still a nice and funy game.

Very unique and creative! I actually do appreciate that you didn't try to force audio without having enough time to create something worth listening to. Perhaps one quick way to add some audio would be as an indicator when you pick up a new object. Sometimes it took me a second to realize when I had picked up an item and when it failed because I already had one of them. Good work!

Mouse sensitivity is a little insane. But yeah, thanks for being honest on the ad! This game could use a lot of work, but that's understandable as you are new to game dev, and things take time. But the creativity is admirable. Most beginners just make bad versions of other games with no creativity in sight, but I can tell you aren't one on those. You took the time to come up with a clever idea and challenged yourself to build it. Good on you, and I hope to see you back again and again as your skills develop until I see you in the top 100. PS: you should go out and rate more games. It's typically about a 2:1 ratio of how many games you rated to how many ratings you get due to the sorting algorithm.

I made a snowman!

Great little time waster, very Zen. And you made it to the end! Especially for the Compo. Congratulations.

Nice little snowman :)
I didn't get to finish mine :/ I don't know what happened but the nose kept missing :/
I would try to reduce the mouse sensibility, it felt really high to me.
