Hoarding by tsuk13

[raw]
made by tsuk13 for LD 40 (JAM)

Definitely still a work in progress. You are a hoarder being delivered a constant stream of packages. Arrow keys to move. Pick up packages with 'z' and move them into your house and press 'z' to put them down Each package is worth 100 points and you lose as many points as packages in a stack if it topples. Stacks topple from the cat messing with them or you stacking more than 4 boxes in a square. Topples also chain together if it falls on another stack. Game ends when you are crushed by a package. (You can be crushed in the initial package landing zone sorry)

It's a little hard to understand but it has the potential to become a fun little game !

The cat ruined everything but still I loved it moving around. An interesting puzzle game is waiting to be carved from this, well done!

Very confusing, clunky movement, idea fits the theme though

It is hard to get the controls, and parts of it fell buggy and work in progress. Overall though it is fun.

Interesting concept. I was a bit confused at first, I think a tutorial might help a lot

A cute art style with a nice theme. The control scheme is a bit clunky as I kept getting stuck trying to go past walls.

A bit hard to understand as already mentioned above. But after I realised how it's supposed to work, I have to admit, that the idea is quite amazing. Some points: What is the goal of the game, when it only ends when we lose our points? Maybe add a max points reached display. And is there a way implemented to stop the cats from destroying our work? I'd be a bit frustating if it'd all about buildung something up to be randomly destroyed.
But you said it, it's still in progress, and i hope you keep on working on it since it's idea is fantastic!

I can imagine an expanded version where the houses are different shapes, not just an empty square. Add sound effects and some more player feedback (how do I know when I have grabbed a box?) and you could make this into a spatial reasoning puzzle game.

Also, I love that its on pico-8. Great work!
