Miss Paws and the Runic Maze by FireSlash

[raw]
made by FireSlash for LD 41 (JAM)

Miss Paws has found herself lost in some old ruins! Even worse, her spell runes have been stolen by monsters!

Cast spells using runes from up to three pools. As you defeat monsters, more runes will be unlocked for stronger spells.

A mashup between a dungeon crawler and a card game, with some light puzzle elements.

Post mortem

This was my first LD entry in 3d, and more to the point, my first project in Armory. There were a number of engine breaking bugs that ate up a ton of time, so the level of polish on this project isn't as high as I'd like. Of note, none of the animations work due to a crash in the exporter. I'll update the build once this is sorted out, so in the mean time you'll have to settle for tweenamations.

Arr, trying to figure out the ??? card killed me.

Are there some hidden health upgrades? At that point the first aid spell only recovered a sliver instead of nearly the whole bar.

pretty cool! kinda confused on the card battle don't know what the runes mean. also got lost in the maze. You should play and rate other games so that others can see your game and rate it too. Great job in this jam!

The spell exploration part is really fun, but there are some oddities:
* all 3 card spells lead to ??? effects. For a long time we thought those did nothing nad were jsut not implimented, but then I cas a night(?) effect on myself that kept me from casting regen and also stunned me?
* Getting more cards should make you more powerfull, but what it actually does is give you less controll since the RNG has more impact.
* In the begining all you do are 2 card combos that are really 1 card combos because there is only one second card.
* When I got the arrow up card it never appeared until I got a card that made it possible to access the third card round. It would be great to communicate this.

I still enjoyed the game, especially the music art and possibly a nodd to that old win98 screensaver?
