Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional
Aside from that, fun game! Great simple concept and the hand animation is silly but fitting. The music is nice, and the sound effects fit well. The AI is a little weird sometimes, but generally works well.
fun little game!
(right after this i tried some more to be sure and did much better... does the Ai scale?) either Nice work.
This is among my favorite jam games ever (all jams included) - that I played at least. I wish I can come up with a concept like this for a jam one day, so simple yet so good ! That's the spirit of jam games imo.
Add a few more cards, maybe a few game modes and up to 4 player and I'm buyin' it on steam. Hell I get my friends to buy it too ! I'm not joking if you feel like it and put some more work on it this could really be shipped and have a decent amount of success.
(As for the optimization issue it seems to happen sometime during card movement)
Thanks @Zimmer ;D I'm sure it probably is better though I've only had the chance to test it like twice with someone else.
Thanks @joemid had loads of fun programming all the movement and figuring out where to draw all the circles and rectangles until it actually looked like a hand xD The ai can either be really hard when you don't understand it but once you figure it out it's pretty unbalanced as @Gavin-Camlin pointed out (thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it, I'm trying to find some time to play through everyones between studying for finals x..x).
@Q-ro diagnal aiming sounds interesting but it would stop the player from moving as much which I was trying to focus on. Really glad you liked it ;D
@Rodrigo Denúbila I'll take a look as soon as I can! It's cause all the animation I did was with math and points! ;D so happy everyone's enjoying it! I'll try and find some ways to make the gameplay a bit more balanced
I agree with most of the criticism of the AI others have posted (starts off feeling very hard and feels too easy once you learn the mechanics). It doesn't do a great job of making the game fun, but good AI's also super tough; it's impressive for LD even if it is a bit unbalanced!
I also found that the shield card wasn't obvious. I had to refer to the written description to figure out what it was supposed to be; maybe something more straightforward like a literal shield for the graphic would be clearer?
Overall, this is great entry. I think with a few more card types, this could be really interesting!
