Obligatory Christmas game :D by Beege1

[raw]
made by Beege1 for LD 40 (JAM)

The objective is to catch the presents and send them down the correct shoot. The more presents that you hold, the more difficult the game becomes. Carry too many and it's game over. Destroy five and it's also game over.

Enjoy!

Controls:

Move - [A], [D] or [Left arrow], [Right arrow] or [Left analog] on Xbox controller

Deposit present [Space] or (A) on Xbox controller

Pretty fun, I managed to get about 25 points or so :) A nice and straight forward concept that scales well in terms of difficulty and fits the LD theme well.

Good game! I think it lacks options for the player, such as deposit a present on the ground for later or something like that

The analog stick controls could maybe use a wider dead zone (the range of small motions that don't trigger a response), my player keeps drifting to the left when I'm trying to hold neutral. Cool game otherwise though :)

@karln Will look into the dead zone issue, thanks for the feedback :)

Concept is simple, fun and addictive !

Patterns are a bit repetitive at my opinion. Also, I think present stacking could be more punitive to fit with theme, maybe increase the bad present spawn rate ?

I completed it with zero broken presents! Very simple but effective game, and the christmas theme really gives it a unique mood. Well done!

Nice! You had an idea pretty similar to mine, but the execution is very different!

A simple idea, and fun game to play. But for me the game gets too difficult way too fast. I would have liked a in game tutorial, and the UI could have been more fun. But overall a great LD game.

Theme, Graphics, Game play all on point. You've also found a cool audio track. The only flaw with this game seems to be the balancing of how stuff spawns and which spawns (maybe i was unlucky with the spawn rate), but except for that its a great solid entry!

Pretty fun game overall. The biggest problem I have with it is that the game's difficulty curve seems to be way too high which causes the game to go from extremely easy to rather difficult way too quickly. This is honestly a minor point however becasue it's hard to find a nice balance in 72 hours.

Nice little game. Maybe it would have been nice to have something new stuff happening after playing a while. So, the gaming experience is quite static, I think.

Pretty fun game, though the difficulty ramp up is a bit too fast.

Nice game. I liked the simple concept and execution.

Some ideas:
- The character movement could have been improved with some slight tweaks (Nothing major though, just working on the stopping motion; but that's just my opinion, it's definitely debatable)
- Having the difficulty progress by having the tubes start out really high and then gradually descending would have been cool imho

Simple but works! The web player was cut off a bit on the side though, so I couldn't see where to deposit presents at first.
