My first Ludum Dare entry, a remarkably complete and relaxing simulation of a garden in a small English village. It wouldn't be out of place in Midsomer Murders.

Impress your neighbours, tend to your garden, lay paths, plant beautiful flowers. Win all of the prize money!

Not only my first LD game, but also my first project using Godot Engine. I managed to get very productive with it very quickly (already knowing Python helped a lot).

If I had more time I'd add better sprites, with animations. Sound effects and music would be good. I also planned for fences and other decorative items; and the occasional bird flying by (the sprite is there, unused).

As a combination city-builder-esque simulation and idle game, I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. Must be going now, some weeds appeared in my garden and Joyce is unhappy with how that looks...

I was excited to see a Godot game for once, but sadly it doesn't run because `./garden-sim: error while loading shared libraries: libXinerama.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory`. Installed the libxinerama package and still doesn't work. Running Arch Linux. The game looks fun, but alas, I cannot play it :slight_frown:

Very unique style! Like the minimalistic art (reduce to the max). When you plant flower I wish I can see what I have planted. Keep up the good work. Bonus points for godot engine!!

While I never was into gardening I found it surprisingly entertaining! Great game!
