This is great, well done! It's a cool combination of mechanics and fits the theme really well, the platform controls and feel of the jumping is very good too. Graphical style is very nice and overall great fun to play.

Dudes, that was awesome trip with sergio, it has a bug at the end, in the last bubble pool you actually can jump over them and get to the bottom through the wall, and the seven nation army song keeps restarting, but the concept is awesome, its just too fun to play. congrats

Wow! Great concept and great execution. There are a little details to polish (character speed, balls collisions, jump height, camera movements) but the work you did here is great! Love the aesthetic and colors! Awesome work!

Veeeery good idea! I love how you mixed plateformer and bubble shotter games! :id: Really nicely done!
Little improvement: in the last part of game, when the screen is going down, it would be nice if the camera could follow the player in the case that he goes faster than the scrolling ;)

This is a nice game overall! Though the puzzle part becomes pretty easy when you just shoot your bubbles in the air until you get the one you need. Also, it is kind of frustrating when you clear a puzzle field and realize afterwards that you should have built a way with it, because you cannot put bubbles in there anymore. :(
Nevertheless, great idea and great execution! :)

The game's graphics is truely astounding, however the platforming gameplay is a bit lacklustre.

Interesting combination of genres here, and they turn out to work quite well together. I loved the story, characters and the world. And the really dry humour. Graphics are really cool, but little rough around the edge towards the end. Gamewise it was bit hit and miss, some bugs that made game too easy for me: I managed to skip a whole lot of the game by falling into pit and respawning further along the level. Also there is no punishment in shooting the bubbles off in random directions, and thus allowing the player choose which colour to use. Kinda defeats the point of the puzzles. Overall great job, some more effort and bug fixing and this would really awesome game!

Ps. loved the Bubble Bobble reference, that’s my childhood game;)

Graphics on some points in the game could be more polished but it's a very good result for a jam !

The idea is interesting, and when the game mechanics works it is pretty fun, but it easy to get stuck in the levels, when you do not hit the wrong thing in one of the Bubble Bobble elements. But the graphics and the music is really good and it fits the game very well. Overall a well made LD game.

Nice work. Puzzle bobble is one of my favs... I think the Bubbles could have used more physics-based shooting, or maybe some way to speed up that portion. It's a tall order, and you guys did some great work.

WOW, then the Jump and Run part became a platforming part... I realized the genius of this game. I worked for a company that made one of the most infamous Bubble Shooter franchises out there, so I really enjoyed this game.
The music is fun, the graphics are quite good, and I love the downtrodden protagonist.

This game has excellent progression / explanation of mechanics by letting the player figure them out.

Improvements
-------------
It is possible to get stuck in your own bubbles. Then you need to restart. Would be cool if you could punch bubbles one square if you can reach them.

Gist
------------
Definitely one of my favourite games of LD. POP!

That was really cool... But i found a glitch at the end of the level. At the segment where you have to go down you can slide into the right wall an have to restart.

First thing - I went backward, through the hut and fell down from the cliff edge. It looks like Sergio was still alive there and happily (?) shooting bubbles, only I couldn`t see him anymore =) and no restart button anywhere! Had to refresh the whole thing (I did it twice, just in case). Anyway, it looks cool and I`ll play some more =)

Really fun and original! But I found a bug that at the last part where the camera start going down and you have to pop the bubbles below you, if you go all the way to the right, you fall avoiding all the bubbles.
Other than that, very fun!

Cool game with a neat concept. The game told a funny story and the art was really good and reminds me a lot of "Don't Starve". I think that's because this game shares a lot of the style with that game.

Controls were good and worked well, however I wish that when you shoot the bubbles they would stick to the spot that you aim for no matter where you point with your cursor because I would miss quite a few because of this.

The gameplay was really straightforward because the presentation was well done, however the grey bubbles could have been more clear as to what they do because I didn't realize they fell into the empty slots below and tried to shoot on those slots with my bubbles until I understood this mechanic.

All in all, a solid entry and really cool art.

This is very well made, the concept is creative and the game was fun to play. The graphics are great and the music matches the game nicely. I also encountered the bug in the last part where you can jump over the balls, but I found no other bugs. Nice job!

What a unique idea, I enjoyed the puzzles laid out in that game. I encountered one small bug where I died and it took me past the challenge I was on (just before the first bridge falling section) if you were wanting to polish it up!

Good game and nice concept, and your graphics are beautiful, I like this papercut aspect ! The gameplay feels a little clunky and sometimes unclear though; especially the fact that you can't place any bubbles in a totally blank area (I had that when I destroyed all the bubbles by mistake, I couldn't find anything to do except to relaunch the game). You also have some bugs: when I fell on the first hole (Yes... I'm not precisely good at platform games :P) I was sent much further in the game. If you could fix those issue your game would be really great. But as it is, it's already really engaging !

"Hmmmffmmfmmmm" 😣

YES! Really fun, even though I was bested by the bubbles and there was no way to voluntarily go back to a checkpoint 😅
Great art style, great genre mashup - a simple idea that has been well implemented. Platformer physics were pretty loose and floaty but I didn't really mind because that wasn't the focus of the game - the time spent making puzzles and art were better spent there than unjankifying the physics!

at the end, when you have to descend through all those bubbles, the right rock doesnt have a collider XD I just fell through (saved me a lot of time so I really enjoyed the fall). The camera could be a bit more responsive. For example go a bit in the direction where you are going, or aim a bit towards where your mouse is. Your using Unity, so you definetly should check out "cinemachine" its working for 2D just as good as it works for 3D. You just gotta get used to it and will make the camera a lot better, instantly, without any effort. Its also not as hard to get used to it as it seems at the start! I was working on a camera script and finished it after 2 months. I was really proud with all the things it can do, then cinemachine came out, and it did all these things and even more ... and they worked way better than mine XD

The game was well done, but I think you already know that :D Cheers

The idea for the core mechanic is super neat. :) Very creative use of bubble matching mechanic. The fact that not only clearing them, but building them is useful, depending on the situation, is super clever!

One tiny thing. I died and I think I got spawned way further than where I died. Other than that, good job!!

Cool game and character design. There are portions where you can fall off and not trigger a restart (right at the beginning of the level, go backward). But the mood is excellent and you nailed the theme so good job!

Very surprising way to combine those genres - I certainly did not expect that!

Overall I very solid package; good theme and superb presentation. The only thing I would work on would be platforming mechanics. The controls could be more responsive. But you cannot have it all in a marathon, this was still one of the best games I've played during this jam.

Really nice game, liked the music and visuals. Expecialy visuals tbh! I like how you guys had time to do some details like bent arm when you get too close to the duck's body with mouse. Funny original concept, although I think a game could use just a little polish. I managed to block myself with the bubbles and wasn't able to get out, but that's just game design and testing things out. Thought I would let you guys know about this. I'm impressed with amount of assets that you were able to prepare in such a short time. Good job

Awesome!
Graphics are cool, and so it's the music, as well as the game mechanics which felt really original.
Just had a small issue with the camera when I "died" once, on the part with all the bubbles and you had to go down, it made me respawn somewhere far away and had to wait for the camera to reach that place while moving really slow.

very cool game, was fun to play, the graphics remind me of don't starve, which I really like. but I kinda got bugged through a wall so I didn't had to take the last obstacle ![1525007947_1519_29042018_1105x609.png](///raw/d0b/1/z/146ee.png)

Idea is pretty cool, but physics lags is too detractive =(

To be sincere : it's gonna probably be the game who touch me te most in this jam ! I think it's mostly because of the art style (I'm a big fan of this drawing style, all the reference, and the childish idea with an harsh visual, it work so well, and fit the overall style of the game) and the music who is just awesome !
But also in a more level design approch the game is good : the collectable push to try some tricky thing, the solution are always clear but graduatly ask more, and the "final" is really intense even if I finished it before the camera can follow me wich destroy the momentum, but it still get me on the moment !

In the end, I just appreciate this game very much , thank for making this game !

I found this combination very interesting and it works as a puzzle to get to places where the objects are very nice. Congratulations for the game.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.
