made by MaiMai for LD 43 (JAM)

You are a junior angel in charge of making sheep from clouds for people to count and drift off to sleep. If the sheep is made in time and meets the requirements, the person will count it and stay asleep.

In order to keep the residents in a mountain lodge sleeping well, sacrifices (sheep!) MUST be made. People need to count sheep to fall asleep and they are COUNTING ON YOU to make those sheep!

How to play:

  1. Grab cloud cotton from the left.
  2. Dye it on the bottom.
  3. Put the ingredients in the oven on the top.
  4. Deliver on the right.

Deliver as soon as possible!

More tips

  • Press W A S D or ARROW KEYS to move around.
  • Hit SPACE BAR to interact.
  • If a wanted sheep isn't delivered in time or an incorrect sheep is delivered, someone will wake up and turn on a light
  • Sheep will bake in 5 seconds, but sheep will be burnt if left too long
  • Deliver before the sheep is no longer wanted.
  • Throw out whatever you don't want in the bin at the top left.

Did I mention it gets harder and harder real fast?

The game ends when the light turns on in all five windows in the mountain lodge.

Hope you enjoy making 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑

Cute art :D It's really hard to make the sheeps especially because we can't use both hands to interact (hold what we are making and take out the sheep ready in the oven). My sheeps were always getting burned because it got ready too fast and I was on the other side of the cloud. I end up just waiting for my sheeps to be ready by the side of the oven to finally get something done. So it's really hard... but it's fun :D I play his kind of games a lot on mobile. It would be very good on a touchscreen. Suggestion: Maybe for the future, make an easier beginning... it gives us more time to get the pacing. Overall i't a good game.

Thanks for playing!
Totally agree. Balance always suffers in a game jam game, but those are good insights, thank you

Good atmosphere

Good graphics

I have to say it's a pity that your game is under 20 rating. you deserve your game to be known.

Kind of fun! Played with a friend and got to 50 points before we tired of it since it didn't seem like it was getting faster, we kept on top of all the orders once we got a nice rhythm going.

It was quite difficult to figure out what was going on at first. The colors were especially confusing as the "blue" dye looked purple and the "pink" dye was easy to confuse with white (took us a few minutes to figure out that white means no dye...in hindsight, that was a "d'uh" moment).

The movement speed is quite slow which made things much more slow-paced than a game such as Overcooked, so once we both understood how to actually play the game, it wasn't really very challenging or frantic. It was kind of peaceful actually which maybe (?) was what you were going for? So it was a nice mood, but gameplay-wise it didn't end up being very interesting.

In the end the ideal strategy most of the time was to have one person focus on dying cotton and putting it in the oven and the other person to deliver all of the completed sheep. It was nice to have defined roles, but I think part of what makes this sort of game fun is having the roles shift around dynamically. Overcooked does this quite nicely with their level and mechanic designs, forcing players to adapt to multiple roles for maximum efficiency. You may want to think about some of their designs and see if you want to take a page out of their book.

It's hard, but also fair at the same time. With great timing you can play this game really well, sadly I don't seem to have that. Graphics and general atmosphere is soothing, while the actual game can be quite busy. Instead of making a game about sacrifice, you let the mechanics do the talking, which is a really nice change as well. Nice polish in general, so really well done!

This is extremely polished. The graphics are really impressive, and the music is really nice. My only suggestion is maybe try to tweak the randomizer a little bit. There were times where I would get three or four of the same shape requested at once, and the ovens just couldn't keep up. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
