INSTRUCTIONS

Your goal is to rescue as many toys as possible before bed time.

WASD (or arrows) to Move.

In the WEBGL version, the "Go to bed" button when you die, doesn't work. But other than that, great game!

Couple of Tub War games up on LD this time around but I have to say; An awesome game. 3 yr old gives it "Is it my turn yet?", 8 yr old gives it a "no, it's my turn", my 15 yr old gives it a "eh pretty good but it could use a little more (no levels of difficulty), and I give it a "Great Job". The voices were a nice touch. Can't wait until next LD to see what you put out next. I'll probably still be playing Tub of Wars though. <3 IT!

The sound effects make the game. So happy I got to listen/watch them being recorded.


As always, great concept and execution. You should definitely be proud of this one. :thumbsup:

Very nice. I was only able to watch a very small amount of your development this time as I was busy working on my game with a team. Hard to work on a game while chatting to team, and watch stream at the same time. Still this is a super fun and great looking game.

You have done it again, made a very great LD game. The only small complain I have, is that it is hard to see what is the font- and back-end of the boat. This small issue made it a bit difficult/confusing to steer the boat. But overall a very well made game.

Amazing. Loved watching the Twitch Stream and watching a master at work, lol. Gameplay has tonnes of depth/objectives/mechanics. I love being able to hook things towards the boat. The variety of enemies kept me engaged, and I loved seeing their bodies strewn about the bottom of the tub. Honestly, no criticisms, 5 across the board. Great job!

Awesome game as always. Really challenging - easy to play but hard to master.

Excellent sound!
The graphics and gameplay are also great, but for me the awesome sound effects are what really makes this game shine.

Man, what a game! And what an amazing accomplishment in 48 hrs.
The best part I think is the way you handle ammo. I love the "regenerating" bullets. Wish I took that approach in my game...

This game is absolutely perfect.

Great visuals, totally fitting the mood of the game, the mechanics are simple and intuitive, the quacken is genius, but the audio is the top of everything!

Very replayable and will definitely replay it.

Impressive work for 48 hours, this is very inspiring!

Love this game. It's near perfect for a compo! Fun gameplay with replayability. Fun audio. Cute graphics. Small eastereggs. Love that the toys stay at the bottom of the tub, when destroyed. It was also fun to follow your stream. Big inspiration!

This game is incredible. It's fun, it sounds great, controls great, and is very polished considering the 48-hour time limit. I can't really think of anything to improve other than just polishing it further, the concept is basically flawless.

really funny! on fantastic was weird turning but i think its my pc fault! ... really funny the sound effects and THE QUAKEN!!!!... was much more difficult that appear at first impression!

Fantastic game, as always! The graphics style fits the toy theme very well. The gameplay is satisfying and offers the right amount of challenge. The sound effects are pretty funny :laughing: I suck at twinstick shooters though and the controls confused me sometimes. I found it hard to see where the front and the back of the boat is: When I am not moving and the turret is turned to the back, I often went off in the wrong direction. All in all, it is a very impressive and polished game for just 48 hours! Nice job!

Looks great! The visuals really fit together, making it a cohesive whole. SFX are funny and fit the "playing in the bathtub" theme. Controls are a bit confusing sometimes. Regularly I did not know what was forwards and backwards. Gameplay is easy to understand, and a lot of fun!

Fun game with excellent graphics for the short amount of time Ludum Dare gives us. I kept getting confused which way I was going, though - but I guess it just takes some getting used to.

Great job, as always, and it was fun to check in on your stream every now and then when I needed a short break from my own programming. Learned a lot from your tutorials, so thanks for all your hard work.

I saw your lead-up and postmortem. This game is pretty great.
Still getting better bit by bit at it myself, but that's a top-caliber arcade game right there.
Good graphics, hilarious sounds (sure beats SFXR!) and solid gameplay.

Keep doing what you do, Quill. You've definitely got the talent for it.

hey really nice game! the modeling work for this is really great, all of the enemies and the player character look so clean and polished. the movement feels great, its like you are floating on water. i also really like the way objects sink in the tub. you did fantastic work making the player feel like they are in a bathtub. the sfx were humorous and likeable, but im not quite sure they match the clean polished graphics of the game. i also think maybe shadows cast on the bottom of the tub could be cool. the power ups were a great addition, auto shot makes you feel like a badass! i enjoyed playing this game very much, really good job!

Great game which felt really polished. I enjoyed watching the livestream when taking a break developing my game. The controls felt somewhat akward at first before I realized how they work but I realized that was intended. The pickups was really cool and the overall feel of the game was awesome. Very fun game with a lot of replay value, great job!

This is probably the best game I've seen this year in Ludum Dare. It's absolutely phenomenal: Gorgeous graphics, solid sounds, hilarious humor, a hard but fair gameplay with low entry level but high skill ceiling. I can't praise it enough.

Super well made in every aspect. Great clean 3d graphics, hilarous sound effects, very tight and responsive controls, physics that make it fun to play around with all the stuff in the tub and of course the incredibly fun arcadey gameplay that gets more challenging the more you play. And this is all in a Compo timespan. **Great** work!

Had a lot of fun with the game Quill, it handles well and plays well. I was a little sad that I didn't end up watching you make it this LD as I was busy working on my own title; but its nice to see yet another great polished title. Thanks for the game.

Ridiculous amount of polish for a Ludum Dare game, holy crap. The models are great, the gameplay is fun and well-designed, and I didn't run into a single bug. Even the SFX don't sound out of place, because the game is so light-hearted and silly!

Just an awesome game again. The controls are fluent and feel very good, it is easy to pick and play and it is fun to play. Just an amazing game overall. The only negative that stands out for me is the music. It is not bad but nothing special.

The game idea is great and the controls are on point. The music fits the game and I love the sound effects! Sometimes I confused the back of the boat with its front (but that is my fault).

Really fun and polished game with nice graphics! :thumbsup:

Solid entry, great range of powerups and variety of enemies.
Well rounded overall, my only suggestion would be to make your own HP more prominent and make it more obvious when you have taken damage.

We had your stream running in the background at our real-world gettogether in Zurich Switzerland. But honestly I was to distracted by my own game to really follow what you were doing. I'm happy that I now finally got around to trying out the finished product!

Really impressed what you were able to make in the time! Very funny game!
