Fun little game. Nothing too fancy and would love to try it 2P sometime. Not much strategy but simple enough like RPS!

Good little game ! Simple but efficient. But, I noticed some defaults :/
-I don't know why but I don't really feel the feedbacks
-I can't play in 2Players mode because... I don't understand the system...
Except this, it's a pretty good game!

Wow, really cool approach of the fighting game and strategy round by round. :)

Loved it! The only 2 things i would suggest are to have BGM and to give a delay around the AI player's turn, it took me a second to figure out that it was going instantly. Awesome concept and gameplay execution though, and the art suits the style really well!

Great job boiling down the fighting game into something so simple. Reminds me a lot of dive kick in that way. I don't know how well it all holds up after a couple of games, but playing against the AI felt great. Makes me really want to find someone to try 2 player with. Great entry!

This is one of the most fun games I've played.

Took me a second to figure it out and it was a pure joy afterwards.

Congrats on the entry!

Interesting concept but not very engaging after you figure out that you can limit the space of the opponent and keep recharging and punching to trap him in the corner. Needed more stuff to make it interesting beyond this point.

One thing it would be interesting to implement in a postjam version would be to be able to use the charge move on full meter to "skip" a turn in place. That would improve greatly the range of strategy the game would have.

By the way, play and rate other games to get more visibility to your's. You can also leave construtive feedback to other people in order to improve your visibility too.

Very cool, the punch recharging system was very smart.
I just wish to have more oponents ( idk if it is possible in pico8) haha btw I loved this game. Nice job!

While I can only rate to the single player experience (infer from that what you like) this game is very simple and elegantly done! As stated before though, it does have an issue where there's a strategy balancing issue where you can easily out-think the computer by forcing them in a corner and limiting their ability to escape and you can consistently deal a hit in the corner. I can imagine that playing with 2-player this would be the case as well.

Perhaps this could be solved for by having a jump option that allows players to jump over opponents, but it could also potentially be balanced by taking an extra turn so players don't abuse the jump.

I would say to not overthink it though, the simplicity of this is what makes it work! I would say just focus on making sure the elements you have work together in interesting ways that create a deep system.

Great job!

Fan of this lil' punch out. Gorgi graphics and perfect sounds. I think it just needs a parry and/or defense, but then again- maybe I missed the point. Great entry- BTW-fun as local two-player! Thanks for the game!

I think a turn-based fighting game is a great idea. I had trouble understanding the need to charge before you could punch, but I eventually got the hang of it. I think it's a little too easy to just corner the AI opponent early in the round and wail on him. Maybe a jump or block mechanic could help break this.

Loved the grafics and the feeling of the characters, well done, and with pico8, ++for that!

A nicely polished little game. Turn based fighting was on my list of games I wanted to make and this is a great entry. Would be awesome with more fighting mechanics.

This is a neat, well-polished game. It's tricky to try and predict your opponent's moves, and get in a position where you can hit him without being hit first, but that's probably true of regular fighting games. The graphics are good, and the fighting mechanics are simple and well-polished. Good job!

The game feel/polish/presentation was good but I wish there was more depth to the tactics.
