It's about bloody time for a vacation.

💟 THE GAME

Sell health potions to heroes battling the forces of evil... but at what cost?

  • ⚗️ As the shop keeper, draw your own blood to brew health potions!
  • ❤️ Sell health potions to heroes to pay for your long overdue vacation 🏖️🌴(and some traps... we'll get to that later)!
  • ⚔️ Throw on your disguise and battle the heroes as the infamous Goblin Monster to steal back the blood and regain your health!

💟 THE STORY

The Goblin Monster is terrorizing the land, and valiant heroes are set on slaying him! You, the guileless shopkeeper make a meager living selling health potions with the ultimate goal of making enough coin to take a much-needed vacation.

Unbeknownst to the heroes, the health potions are actually made from the shopkeeper's blood! What a twist! Double-unbeknownst to them, the shopkeeper is in reality the fiendish Goblin Monster, who is harvesting the blood from the heroes trying to defeat him and using it to heal himself! WHAT A DOUBLE TWIST!

💟 HOW TO PLAY

Haemogoblin is played in two parts: 1. SHOP | Draw your blood 💉 to brew potions - Don't draw too much or you'll surely perish at the hands of a hero later - Once you're done, sell your potions and rake in the coin 💰 - Don't poke the spider ☝️🚫🕷️ 2. BATTLE | Fend off the forces of good in a game of tower defense - Spike traps damage heroes that come into contact with them and gather blood to refill your stock - Spiders 🕷️ shoot web 🕸️ at heroes, slowing them down - slowed down heroes take extra damage on spikes - Defeat heroes by killing them with spikes or slowing them down until their stamina is drained and they teleport out of combat. - If a hero reaches you, they'll hit you with their sword! Try not to die or it's game over - worse yet, there'll be no vacation for you! 🚫🏖️

Very nice. Even though I pretty much hate tower defence genre. Lovely art and music and puns in game names are always good in my books. Only visual thing that stuck to me was the lack of shading on knights and gnome on the actual game scene. Made them pop out (and not in a good way) from everything else that was more detailed. Another thing that lack the polish that otherwise was there was the health bars.

![hg.png](///raw/1e4/3/z/23cb9.png)

The balancing and overall progress flow were a bit off. The only way I was able to win was to just use 5 spiders on the first round and then completely drain the gnome. That with our savings from the first round are enough to bank a win. The traps were just too damn expensive to warrant their use. I see in the screenshot above that you had them as 60 at some point, seems more fair.

The lack of progress was also quite depressing. You lost all your buildings each round and the enemies didn't seen to get harder or increase in number the further it went at all. I was just pretty much stuck in a loop of all the blood I could make with traps was barely enough to make as much blood the next round.

The shopping cutscene looked nice but started to be a bit annoying after being in the fore mentioned loop for quite some while. Would be nice if it was skippable. The potion filling wrongfully played the sound on each click wether the previous one was done or not.

Anyways, good job!

beat it! I died the first time around since you can get in a bad state if you spend too much in the beginning, but after that I was able to figure it out and save up enough money. There were times where I probably collected more blood than I needed, so perhaps awarding player or making it more clear they shouldn't collect too much? The art and expressions on the shopkeeper were very good. Keep up the good work!

Amazing! This game was super fun and interesting. You can really see that there was an idea and a game built around it. Loved the art and general design of the game. Feels very polished and cute. Really enjoyed the music and found it very fitting (gives off that shady Russian mafia feel) :).
I especially like the spider... ;)

Really like the ideia of making potions with your blood and selling them, the animation on this part is great too, and the sound fits right on with the game, the problems for me were there's no progression on difficulty or spawn of enemies and there's only 2 traps. Ps. Nice touch with the credits carved on the table, cool ideia.

Nice game team :D very funny (especially the word plays) and wholesome. For the game jam game, you hit the right scope for tower defence. Game matches theme and is fun to play :D keep up the good work

Just the original way of hiding credits as little scratches on the counter top gave this game a 5/5 for Humor for me, idk why, it cracked me up!

Brilliant take on the theme! Great work and clever word play on the game name.
This was really fun and reminded me of playing old school tower defence games back in the day

Wow, what a detailed entry! I didn't quite grasp every mechanic at first, but while I played I started realizing all the different interlocking gameplay elements. I love how subtly but clearly these mechanics are explained just through playing! everything is very well polished here, great work!

I really liked the mood and humor of this game. Didn't find the good way to use the traps, because I ended short of blood very quickly. But this still was fun to play, good job!
