Man-sized Disposal by kruemelkeksfan

made by kruemelkeksfan for LD 44 (JAM)

While playing Man-sized Disposal you will be set in ancient Egypt or Greece. Your city is craving a monument. To put it together you need to provide the construction site with material and some fleshly currency. This currency will spawn in your city if you provide enough food. Beware, since there is a serious deflation going on, which is heard to worsen during food shortages. When you have provided your monument with enough material you can watch it rising up step by step. News of the monument has spread to your neighbors and they do not want you to have this glory, be prepared to defend your city from enemies.

We wanted to do a small project this time and it turned out to be bigger than we thought. The plan was to implement three stages/levels: Egypt, Greece, and Rome, but we only managed to finish the first two. It is our first game with sound and we believe the music turned out pretty well. Also, our time management got better so we could testplay the game the first time Saturday night.

It took me a long while to figure out the mechanics, but once I did it was perfect. Throwing people to working sites feels satysfying :D. And the music fits perfectly. Good job!

Really cool game! I loved it. When you're getting attacked, it could have something more visual indicating it, other than a text that I missed serveral times.

Nice work!

@aspect Glad you find it funny :-D. You can kill the enemies if you hit the indiviually persons with your people. If you do, the enemy will disapear.
Hope this helps.

Cool entry.

The main remark was that it took me a bit to figure out how the game worked xD, the camera was also a bit strange.

I really struggled to figure out what was going on. I threw a bunch of people at the farms and quarry but never made any progress. I really liked the idea of the strategy game that you played by orbiting around the monument you are trying to build, it's just a shame that I couldnt seem to make any progress on it.

@dorblin7z7 Generally the game should tell you where the workforce is needed (red demands in the top left half of the screen). Thank you for the feedback.
I don't know whitch level you played but there should be an explanation in Egypt.
