PS: If you guys are interested play our game Payblood, we would love to know what you guys think!
I would suggest to increase player spawn over time, since you currently don't really need to buy the upgrades.
With different kind of enemies (giving different amount of health) it could have been much more fun (easy to say I know)!
By the way I tried to use the upper platforms but, it was a trap! Foes will stack up below you and they will not be able to touch you but, you can't shoot them either. Then when you leave the platform they will follow you and just destroy you!
However, I think it starts out too slow/easy in the beginning. But once I got to round 50 it became way more interesting. In my opinion it could even get harder after that with faster enemies or enemies that can take more than one hit.
Also, the game crashed for me when I stood on the upper part of the right wall and an enemy hit me from below.
It only was challenging at round 50 tho, because they keep on coming, before that there is none who comes close.
I also would have liked a death animation or some kind of interaction.
Cool game, although we avoided making a game with this concept due to the similarity to the entries of the previous Ludum Dare.
Bugs:
The game had a bug that when sticking to the wall you couldn't jump. Also you can just wait on the top platforms for the enemies to accumulate there and they can't do nothing about it.
Upgrades:
The life regen upgrade was a bit overpowered for the price. All the rest were good.
Design:
The music was good, and the pixel art was on point. Maybe to spice up more the gameplay some camera shockwave when hit/ being hit would be a good addition.
Props for making this game and keep it up!
What you can improve:
* use a real music loop, here I know when it will finish
* vary environment and monster, I just see 2 types of enemys
* make the upgrades useful with some balancing, even after buying upgrades I don't feel the rush to buy it
I reached round 18 and after game crashed
-Aiming at an incline instead of shooting just straight
-The game scales to slowly, I stopped playing because it was too easy and repetitive around round 11.
