"Whipout" is a challenging, 2D platformer game with excessive gore. The game is set on a stage where your life depends on you completing the course (that is if you don't lose your life on the way through). Enjoy a quick paced, challenging platformer with obstacles, traps and great sound effects!
Controls are: * WASD or arrow keys for movement * W or up for jumping * S or down for ducking

nice audio. its a fun little game.
:dog:
One thing about the platform physics. It's a good idea to allow the player to jump in the air a short duration after running off a platform. It's more forgiving and the player doesn't really notice it unless it's missing.
My only gripe was I felt the jump key was a bit unforgiving... many times (many) I would fall to my death though I was positive I hit jump in time.
Other than that, 11/10, would recommend A++++.
Constructive feedback: I would agree with @donitz in regards to the jumping just past the edge mechanic, which is common in these types of games and feels good to the player (that they don't notice); something worth researching. Also to note, the gray background tile grids kind of phased in and out with movement around the screen, sometimes showing just the vertical lines, sometimes horz only, sometimes none.. (maybe it's my monitor resolution that causes it.. I did it in the webGL version, on a 2560x1440 res).. this was kind of a strain to the eyes and a little distracting to the action of the char.
Both of those are quite minor though - all in all it plays well, is challenging and fun, and an excellent first LD game!
I've sort of tried to hone in on a sound that I can hopefully apply to my next game jam (or any for that matter), so used some old school 80s drum samples and spiced up the bass.

I don't like "rage games" like this, but it was great!
