The first positive impression is music that makes me dance crazy dances. At first annoying bad graphics and jerky animations, but then you join the game and gradually you start to feel the flow of the game.

The graphics were a bit glitchy, but that did not take awway from my excitement, I actually really liked it! The music is great and I love how the traps are really clear, since it can be frustrating to get hit by a trap you didn't even see. Great job :)

Good difficult game. I could see myself speedrunning this.

One thing about the platform physics. It's a good idea to allow the player to jump in the air a short duration after running off a platform. It's more forgiving and the player doesn't really notice it unless it's missing.

I was insta-head-wiggling to that theme tune. And the duck animation is the best duck animation in the history of duck-able player characters.

My only gripe was I felt the jump key was a bit unforgiving... many times (many) I would fall to my death though I was positive I hit jump in time.

Other than that, 11/10, would recommend A++++.

The graphics is not good, but i enjoyed the game. Although it is a regular platformer and I do not see the theme in it, i think it is a good game.

Excellent job, especially if this was your first LD! Music is good (is that real bass that was recorded?) - controls are tight. The animations are cute and fun.. and I loved the deaths/gore!

Constructive feedback: I would agree with @donitz in regards to the jumping just past the edge mechanic, which is common in these types of games and feels good to the player (that they don't notice); something worth researching. Also to note, the gray background tile grids kind of phased in and out with movement around the screen, sometimes showing just the vertical lines, sometimes horz only, sometimes none.. (maybe it's my monitor resolution that causes it.. I did it in the webGL version, on a 2560x1440 res).. this was kind of a strain to the eyes and a little distracting to the action of the char.

Both of those are quite minor though - all in all it plays well, is challenging and fun, and an excellent first LD game!

Thanks so much for the kind words and constructive feedback @redhermit ! I did the audio in this production and no it wasn't actually real bass, just a sample instrument, can't remember which one exactly but it was from East West anyhow :). Having just done a playthrough of your game I've found that I'd make a good provider, so that's not very realistic :P (joking) I liked the feel of it and I really dig how sophisticated the audio was. I've only gotten started on trying to code audio into games so can appreciate the know how involved with even implementing musical changes between scenes and trying to implement footsteps that loop... anyway in case if you're interested I've done like an updated version of the game-play theme https://soundcloud.com/sassykeys/ld-game-jam-whipout-level-music

I've sort of tried to hone in on a sound that I can hopefully apply to my next game jam (or any for that matter), so used some old school 80s drum samples and spiced up the bass.

I don't like "rage games" like this, but it was great!

@franciszek-pyrc Thank you for taking the time to play our game and even include it in your video! I'm not 100% sure if we originally planned it to even be that hard, I think it just got increasingly harder throughout development lol. Glad you still enjoyed
