Tl:dr Color based tower defense! 🤖

Hey guys,

We are a german team of 3 members. We made a little tower defense game. Unfortunately, there are still a few features missing. Time was just too short this time. We hope you enjoy it anyway. It's recommended to play in fullscreen.

Controls

Use the sidebar on the right to select the tower you want to place.

  • Left-click to place a tower
  • Right-click to place a wall
  • Left-click-drag any of the 3 color clouds at the bottom center to any of your towers to add color to it

The clouds will shrink as you use up your colors. Enemies that reach your home will eat up color. Enemies that are defended will gain you back some color.

Chose your towers wisely!

Submission 2 Changes

The currently linked version is "post-jam" with just 2 small fixes:

  • enemies can't go out of the screen anymore
  • a typo in the intro has been corrected

The original version can still be played on github under the "First Submission" release.

Well done guys, I liked it after I learned how it works, maybe having a way to buy turrets and walls would help the game feel a bit more challenging because like this I just built a bad ass fortress of evil before the second wave.

I like the idea! It took me a while to get that I need to drag the color on the towers, but after reading the description it was fine.
It would be cool if the player could create a maze - sadly, the minions can walk above or below the level :(

I like the idea behind this, just felt like a lot of info was missing, like how much of each colour you had left, and things like the damage each turret does.

Interesting game! I like how you applied the jam theme here - your turrets fire by giving them a color, which is your health too. Tower defense games are fun and this wasn't an exception, nice game!

Ha, the first tower defense game I played so far. And I thought they were gone for good ;) I'm not the biggest tower defense fan, but I appreciate your little colored twist on the genre. Looks like it's still relatively rough around the edges and the coloring mechanic is a little unintuitive, but looking at the towers shooting away in unison is kinda satisfying. Keep up the work!

Edit: Oh, and the art is cute, I like it :)

Nice entry! Original twist on the good old Tower-Defence genre. Easy to understand, hard to master. The dragging of the colours was a bit of a hassle, and it was a bit unclear how much colour you've got left. The drawings are nice (especially the robot!), and the music is awesome!

Well done!

I really like the color twist to tower defense, although I couldn't tell which color the turret would shoot - it seemed to change randomly, or was that the color running out? Aside from the UI cues it's a really nice game! Great work!

After reading what I should be doing, it was a solid game for 72 hours. Graphics were nice, music was really good, and gameplay was complete enough for a jam entry. Keep it up!

Cool game, I really liked it! The graphics blended well. If you had more time it would have been better to work on information which would allow the player understand the game more.

Nice game which makes fun to play.

First I thought that it was easy, but then I realized, that you have to reload the towers. Not so easy anymore.

On problem that I was facing was that I couldn't see the whole game in the WebGL window without switching to fullscreen.

Loved the particle effects with the color. Took me a second to realise what to do with the color. I really get into the game. Good job!

funny tower defence game but way too easy! you basically can'T lose it with 6 twin defense towers.

Nice game, I really like the idea.

Placing towers/walls could've used some limit to avoid making an unbeatable fortress. The game does get a bit repetitive after a while. Also, the color clouds were a bit confusing, I feel like they need a better indication of when they are empty and when they can be used again.

Overall, nice work!
