the idea and the art is very cute but the Music is a Little bit to monotonous. :hearts:

Good use of the theme, I think my only major complaint is it would be nice to have a WASD or arrow keys to move the Dryad. There's a lot of clicking and not great for RSI. Other then that, nice amount of upgrades and decent gameplay!

Impressive entry, very well done.

The mechanics are easy to learn, it's smooth, really nice. Special thumb up for the overall execution, the innovation and the theme, you deserve it.

A really interesting game, I like it!
While I agree the music it a bit monotonous, the later switch to the sadder variant, and the growing swarms attacking your forest set the scene very well.

Did I just play a clicker? A strategy game? Or a realtime tactics game?
Never mind what I really enjoy about this game, is I have the power of nature, but also a sense of inevitability, that my forest WILL be cut down.
A little sad, a little cute. Enjoyed it.
Works on the mac! Thank you for building a mac version.

A great implementation of the theme! I loved all of the mechanics! I like how the first 4 are random from a pool of 5. And the game isnt that long so that you can try out different strategies! I quite liked the game overall!

@seriouslycrunchy Ah, I forgot to mention in the controls section but you can also hold down the left mouse button and then Dryad will just follow your cursor.

I loved the aesthetic and music, good use of the theme! It just felt refreshing and I would like to see more of this. If you continue developing it, it would be awesome to be able to grow out the forest in defensive ways, such as placing out bushes full of thorns and such. You did this all by yourself? Great job, you should be super proud!

Interesting take on the theme, my team and I made a very similar game to this. I liked the AI of your familiars, but there was a lack of feedback for your actions. Fun jam game!

Very nice work! Love the take on the theme. I really like that you found the time to do a mini-map, which worked great, and the program icon is adorable! The only critique I have is that having an additional control option (wasd / arrow keys) would have been nice, but the point and click mechanic was sufficient.

Oh gosh, that game over image is freaky. I walked out with a score of 41298. This was overall a pretty solid entry, pretty easy to pick up and understand. The pixel art looked a little strange with the attackers, but overall, the gameplay was fun. I like how the music changes once you start getting down to a low number of trees; the ominous tune was quite nice. The mechanic was very well tied to the theme; I like how you regain life by attacking, your life transfers to the trees and you spent portions of your life to get familiars that help you protect the trees. Having less trees makes it easier to protect the few, but is more prone to attacks. Overall, the gameplay and use of the theme stood out to me the most about this game. There were times when I got stuck in the trees, but nothing I couldn't wiggle my way out of.

Cute game, becomes a bit repetitive in the long run but still pleasant to play

Fun concept! I was a little confused about how it worked at first (I didn't know that restoring the trees took your life and attacking humans replenished it). After I realized that, though, I felt more engaged. I guess a brief tutorial explaining how interactions with the environment affect your life would be nice. Aside from that, this isn't bad for something made in just a few days!
