SpaceQuest by Simone
Terrible news! The ship core acquired self-consciousness. It started to produce bot to defend itself and soon will be unstoppable. Only you, in form of a small repairing unit, can do something. Kill the enemies, buy upgrade, reach the ship core and put down this machine rebellion. Be careful! You will have to pay for the upgrades with your integrity...
I hope you all will enjoy playing this game as much as I did while making it. Unfortunately the scope was a bit too big this time and I didn't really have the time (and the energy) to polish it properly. Overall, I'm still quite happy with the result.

Went in expecting to shoot some spaceships, got just that.
1) The static turrets were more annoying than challenging. Some rooms they were hitting me from outside the screen. It looked like they only locked on if the player is in a line from them. Once I realized that, I realized it is better to not stay at the edges. Still died to the static turret in one of the rooms in 2nd level.
2) The moving enemies often got stuck in doorways, unable to move while I was still able to hit them with my laser. I did not see them shoot their weapon once actually. Maybe if they were smaller it would solve the doorway issue?
3) "+max life" - i was unable to figure out what this would do until I actually used it. I think if it just said "+1 life" or something that would have been better. Also, there seems no reason to use repair instead of +max life unless there is a cap and I haven't reached that yet.
Overall, the shooting experience was fun, upgrades felt meaningful as well. Seems like there is a giant enemy looking at the screenshot as well, so I am off to play some more and destroy it :D
Indeed there are amy things not polished. I started with a smaller idea in mind and then I expanded it over my possibilities of delivering within 48h.
I like that there are multiple types of enemies and the upgrade system was a nice touch too. Clever use of the theme with using HP as a currency for upgrades.
Good job!
Not particularly close relation, I have to admit :)
On the other hand, this was one of the only 3 themes I voted against xD I was really no inspired by it.
Maybe the enemies could get harder over time and you should add checkpoints when traveling through portals. But other than that, a great game!
I think that repair and max life are a little redundant as repairing one lost life or earning a new one is basically the same, meaning you could only have a single +1 Life button and simply not display lost lives.
The shooting and the enemies were pretty alright, as was the balancing of the stats with the level ups. The boss on the second level kept destroying me from out of the screen though.
