It really looks like one, like the original legend of zelda or something, but unfortunelly i had no sound. I don't know ,if it was intentionally, but i actually found the strange jump mechanic funny and it let the game feel even older. It hitted the theme, but it wasn't really engaging and didn't hold me for long. But over all, the style, mood and graphiics got me to love it","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"PixScope","author_uid":"1146490","time":"2019-05-01T22:08:11Z","epoch":1556748491,"modified":1556748491,"text":"I love it !","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"cppchriscpp","author_uid":"1010334","time":"2019-05-05T03:36:36Z","epoch":1557027396,"modified":1557027396,"text":"Yess, another NES game! I love seeing retro games in the compo\/jam; I feel like the limitations tend to lead to a very focused and complete game.\n\nThe gameplay was simple and effective, and I liked the basic sound effects. (which don't show up in the web-based emulator; more on that in a sec...) The graphics looked pretty fantastic. For a first NES game ever, this is really impressive! You should be proud. I hope you had fun making this, and I hope I'll see more from you some day! I really liked this entry.\n\n\nTo note, JSNes doesn't do a great job with sound - I used it for a pretty long time. One of the folks on the NintendoAge discord made his own js emulator called [Nez](https:\/\/github.com\/Sumez\/nez) that does audio right, and I basically swear by it at this point. I made some tweaks to it that make it easier to set it up to host your own game. Here's [my version](https:\/\/github.com\/cppchriscpp\/nez) -- no pressure on using it; just wanted to share the option!","likes":1,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld44\/151677-a9ccb6950ef9fa22df84bdd3d1883801.png"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/cloud.weirdfox.com\/GameJam\/LD44.nes","text":"Nintendo Entertainment System\/Famicom"},{"url":"http:\/\/ld44.weirdfox.com\/run\/NesTest","text":"HTML5 (web)"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"54699","g_author":"1141614","g_event":"LD44","g_eventkey":"75","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"255006","g_title":"The life of Cirkat","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"13","g_site2_node_id":"151677","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0.919125"},"nds":{"n_key":"151677","n_urlkey":"255006","n_parent":"139254","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/44\/the-life-of-cirkat","n_slug":"the-life-of-cirkat","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"141614","n_created":"1556459494","n_modified":"1556682070","n_version":"466346","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":151677,"parent":139254,"superparent":9,"author":141614,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2019-04-29T01:52:18Z","created":"2019-04-28T13:51:34Z","modified":"2019-05-01T03:41:10Z","version":466346,"slug":"the-life-of-cirkat","name":"The life of Cirkat","body":"Ludum Dare 44 - Your life is currency\n-------------------------------------\n\n![Sans titre.png](\/\/\/raw\/e29\/22\/z\/21ec9.png)\n\nGame : The Life of Cirkat\n\nTeam size : 1\n\nPlatform : NES (original NES from 1983\/1985, using emulators for the Jam)\n\nLanguage : 6502 ASM & C\n\nPersonal challenge : First time trying to program a game on NES\n\nYou will need a NES emulator to run this game, any good NES emulator should work.
