Deadline by Evan Minto

A mission as important as it is dangerous.
Untested technology in the hands of one person.
A time machine running on a short battery.
Recharge with blood. Rejuvenate with power.
Trade health for battery power and vice versa to reach the end of this challenging platformer and discover the true purpose of the time travel mission!
Controls
- Arrow keys to move, up to jump
- Buttons 1 (Z) and 2 (X) convert health and battery
The battery depletes whenever you move, and when your battery runs out you slow way down, so look out!

I can't get past this screen -- neither clicking with my mouse nor pressing any key on my keyboard seems to work. (Mac, Safari)
I got my teammates for the jam to crowd around the game for a replay, but I used the in-game restart, and it made the end text not appear.
I like the take on the theme and how it's implemented, and you managed to do a great job using Pico-8 to it's fullest to nail the retro aesthetic.
* adjust jump height according to battery level
* add a way to knock enemies
* improve graphics by few pixels
