Really charming - the dialog was funny, and the art fits together really well!
Pretty damn polished and complete - overall, great!

Only real nit-pick is that the theme felt pretty arbitrarily tacked-on - why do I lose money whenever my heart beats, and why does that kill me? Also, some more work on the audio would really flesh this out.

Honestly feels like a complete and polished game, it feels nice to play this game after countless raw or unfinished entries. I had a blast playing it to completion.

The game's life is also pretty good thanks to the exploration gameplay, and the art is as goofy as the humor (Thinking about the main character).

Overall, a wonderful entry, great job !

Well done ! The idea is really really interesting even if you exchange more money than life. No bugs were found during my test ahah. I found it really inspiring ! One thing that is probably missing are upgrades ! Range for mining, jump, life or money you can get, discout at the shop... I mean there is so much opening to your game that you should try to keep working on it :D Great work !

Was looking forward to trying it, but all I've got is a pink screen with the money heart thing in the top left. I'm on Mac. any ideas?

Amazing game, I loved the mining-style aspect of it. one suggestion would be that sound effects like for mining or placing ladders would help make it better

Had a lot of fun playing this game. I found myself hooked enough to play it through to completion. :) The lack of sound effects was probably the only real complaint I had as I was entirely relying on visual feedback when digging which wasn't easy to see. One part of the audio I did enjoy however was the transition on the music as you ascended closer to the finish area.

Either way, nice simple concept and surprisingly addictive. :)

One bug found. (not being able to walk back into the shop after teleporting).
Not knowing that teleporting causes you to drop your loot is what got me killed, I probably skipped that part.
But all in all, great visuals, very clean and simple. Audio was lacking and the tune never got old. Very well fleshed out game. Nice!

Pretty solid game here. Lovely art style, fun mechanics, quirky humour and addictive gameplay. The music didn't really suit in my opinion but that's my only minor gripe. Could easily expand this into something. Awesome job!

One of the most content rich and well polished compo games that I have played in any of the (now 14) Ludum Dares that I have participated in. One of the best things that you did was how well you tutorialized it, you manage to convey how to play the game, what to do, and how to do it. You gate the player from progressing too far and getting confused and explain new things along the way.

And then you somehow managed to create a nice coherent art style AND fantastic audio.

It's a really good game, almost died because I'm too greedy and started to buy too much ladders, had to make quick back and forth in the mines with only 25$ left.

The audio is nice, but I find it a little bit too repetitive, but it adds already a lot to the gameplay.

During my first playtrough I had a bug where I couldn't move to the left anymore. I teleported in the second shop and teleported again and then I could move to the left :/ Had to restart the game but I'm glad I did and won the game :D

P.S : Would have love a fullscreen option also, did I just missed it somewhere ?

@cocapasteque There's no fullscreen unfortunately. Oh man, i know exactly what caused the bug, and i'm a fool for not thinking about that at all during development. haha, i hate when that happens. thanks for telling me though!

This is a very well polished game! The idea is a little odd but nonetheless pretty interesting. Graphics and audio were really good also. Good job!

together rather good despite a rather high difficulty

I really like this game. It feels polished and invites you to play for longer and longer. Also it has this kinda Motherload vibe. The graphics are awesome and the music is pretty great(especially liked that the beats are synced with the HP going away :)), although it gets a bit repetitive after a while. One thing that stood out was the smoothness of the controls, everything felt fluid and I did not get stuck anywhere. For a compo game this is incredible.
