Chain of Enemies by Pix

Note: You will need a VR headset and controllers to play. Thank you to anyone who took the time to set up their rig and try it out.

Chain of Enemies is a VR action-card game inspired by Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories with wave battles made for Ludum Dare 44. The instructions are to your right and the card descriptions are behind you. Because of time constraints there are only 2 waves. I hope you enjoy.

Here's a link to discord and twitter accounts for the game for when I inevitably turn this into a full project.

Quite a cool game; try making some better graphics, that smooth together better.

@Arcus Thanks for the feedback! This was a solo project and my first game jam so I think I overextended a bit mechanically and had to use my placeholder art in the final product. Besides adding more waves, art and sound are the main changes I want to make for a commercial release in the future.

First jams can be confusing; trying to find the right mix between design and programming can lead to over ambitious projects, or over-engineered minigames.

@arcus Yeah, I didn't realize how overambitious my project had become until halfway through day 2 and at that point simplifying the mechanics to remove card combos would have been boring, so I opted for mechanical depth over polish. This was a lot of fun so I'll remember to keep my ideas smaller for future jams. What I really wasn't prepared for is the drop of productivity when you've been working on the same game for 6+ hours in a row and you start to lose concentration.
