What you could have added is maybe some more sprites for the father for him to be more expressive (surprise, fear, anger). Nice job !
@cadmium @roilbauk I did end up making older sprites for the father but the pivot point was messed up so the sprite shifted down when we swapped the sprites, it's in the files just not turned on haha
You also have that Bourassa-ish art style down =P
Very well put together! It's compelling.
The mouse-look thing is a bit distracting, especially during dialogue.
I loved the graphics and the presentation. The way Death is depicted reminded me a bit of Dark Souls Nito, a design I really like :)
I really liked the small things, like how the *knock knock* sfx comes from the door.
The story is nice too, and I liked a few details like the ending you get when you keep killing people. Great work!
(Poor daddy ๐ข)
Sidenote: at first I thought the shadows on the father's eyes were crazy cool sunglasses. Very cool.
Great job!
However I did not like the story very much. Maybe it is due to the writing or due to how simple the story is. But I understand if you didn't have enough time to work on it.
One more thing, in the first meeting with Death the character is describing Death with death's portrait on the dialog box. I think It'd be more impactful if you put the description in the previous full screen CG. Again, this is a small nitpick.
Overall, I think this is a very solid entry. Good job!
Even the menu screen looks dope, as does most of the art :)
Intriguing story with surprisingly high replay value, props on that!
At times I wish there were additional options, for example when I went to the well and saw that the only person there was a child, I wish I could have turned back. Option like this wouldn't even necessarily complicate the story, as it would just lead to Emma dying, much like refusing Death's proposal.
Regardless of this little gripe, I was fully immersed and had a pleasant experience. Good job!
I love the parallax effect and i would also invest on more layers of objects accross the scenario to increase the sensation of depth
Graphics and audio is awesome.
Like others already mentioned, the paralax effect is a very nice touch.
Keep up the good work.
