I'd like to see a procedurally generated town, so it's not the same layout each time.
To win this game one has to get over a budget of 480000$. Admittedly, that could have been a bit clearer.
We were pretty short on time and couldn't pack in everything we wanted to, so some buildings and events are missing.
Alternatively, you can download it for your platform.
Revenue is the raw money that the building makes. Upkeep is the buildings expenses.
Income is Revenue - Upkeep, so what you actually get onto your bank account.

Thanks for playing. :)

I really like the music though and what it looks like from the screenshots it seems lie a fun game to play!
This is the console output, which comes repeadetly:
**ERROR**: Method/Function Failed, returning: RES()
At: core/io/resource_loader.cpp:487:load_interactive() - Method/Function Failed, returning: RES()
What might also help is using a different browser.
It's an issue with how html5 is exported with godot, so there is not much I can do about it.
Jokes aside, entertaining game, the music is very chill to get through building everything, pixel art works really well with this concept and no noticeable bugs.
Solid entry, props!
The game itself is really funny for me, from all I played so far I enjoyed it the most I think!
Graphics and audio are both really nice for it!
One thing I'd like is the abily to drag the world around. I think it would be easier to use than key movement.
BUt other than that, I love it!
Fun: It's nice. It's a little on the slow side, but that just makes it relaxing. I didn't realise for an embarrassingly long time that I could move the camera around! Some other things weren't clear - I saw that supermarkets get a better income when there are more houses, but I don't know what other rules are going on. In the end I just built everything, which worked fine. The idea of charging money for hints is neat, but when I clicked on the first one it wasn't very useful so I didn't spend any more money until another playthrough.
Innovation: At first it looks like a city builder. But it doesn't play the same as one, so I'm happy with that!
Theme: It meets the theme; if you run out of money, you lose the game. That's what happens in most city builders anyway, though.
Graphics: The graphics are nice, and functional.
Audio: I really like the music. The sound effects are good too.
Humor: I enjoyed the newspaper articles, although for some, it wasn't clear whether they're telling me something about the game, or just for flavour. Also enjoyed the hints when I came back to them later.
Mood: Good. Relaxing city builder.
P.S. Half expected the statue of Godot to never come.
Everything in this game feels right. I really like it!
It gets you even more once you have the factory build!
@cozmic you should be able to drag the world around with your middle mouse button! :)
@lola thanks! :)
@aspect yeah we got short on time in the end and didn't get all the buildings, requirements and events in that we wanted.
Still, I think it turned out alright.
@reheated thanks for the detailed feedback!
I think only the weather report is not gameplay related.
And the very first welcome article.
@nava build the farm and lumber yard first. :P
nice to hear you had fun! :)
Good job, I really, really enjoyed playing your game. It actually felt like a finished product :v:
