Cool game, it felt very complete with main screen, training mode, and 3d fighting. Looks better then some ps1 games! The core gameplay itself of fighting could use a bit more polish, maybe you could have cut some of the abilities?

The skill tree is nice. A lot of text on that first screen, though! Pretty complete game here in my opinion. Nice job.

EDIT: In the training screen, it's hard to see what the block button is!!

a nice game made in 48 hours, with more polish it could be even better, cheers!

This was way more complex than I expected! I love the cell-shaded 3d graphics and obviously a lot of thought went into the skill trees. I think in this case the photographs looked sort of jarring, maybe could look better if there was a filter on them to make them look a bit more like illustrations.

If you're having trouble beating the game, try investing points into block talents and using the block + counter to stun your opponents

This game has a lot going on for something made in such a short time. Really impressive. And a completely unique (to me at least) take on the boxing genre.

I had fun doing the boxing, and enjoyed the sort of mii-esque graphics, but after I beat the third guy a box came up telling me I lost, which I didn't understand.

@squirmonkey you didn't 'lose' exactly, you probably just sold all of your remaining years to get the title. The point of the game is the deal with the devil.

Enjoyed the game, nice variation of skills. Simple but effective fights.

@scalphamission I mean the box literally said like "This is the box that explains the lose condition"

The graphics during the fight were really cool for a jam game. I think that maybe it'd be best to go lighter on the text and menus prior to the first fight -- I felt like I had made several bad decisions prior to throwing any punches.

This is so cool for a game jam game - I don't think I've ever seen someone make one! To be honest I don't really know what I was doing other than mashing all of the arrow keys, that's fun enough though. I wasn't really sure what I was doing with all of the abilities, I seemed to have inifinite money! Really great job, nice one.

WHAT A GAME!! I loved the art style for this one! I was 100% mashing buttons to win, but who doesn't in fighting games, at least those who aren't skilled like myself XD

@squirmonkey Thanks for reporting that issue! There was a merge conflict before submission and an old scene slipped in unnoticed. If you are interested, the new build with the correct ending has been uploaded.

Great idea for the game! It would work great with some Mad Maxy thunder dome theme. I wish I could get some rewards after winning a fight (extra points, new pacts to sign?). Right now I can't do much to prepare for a next fight except not spending all points in the first go.
I hope to see some post-jam updates! :)

Great game feels really good with the sound of the crowd and the sound effects for hits, it's great fun to play.

Nice work! The pact idea + boxing is very suiting for the theme :)

Here's a cool thing that happened when I played :D Dual knockout!

(Yes, as you can see I was weak and used the devil perks)

Whoa, just when I pasted this screenshot I noticed the demons in the crowd :||| Nice touch.

@0x01f0 Good eye! The more pacts you forge the more shadowy figures and hooded cultists appear in the crowd.

This game is amazing for a 48 hour game. With that said I do think the combat felt a bit wonky sometimes but it is completely acceptable for the time given

With a little more polish this game could be great. Good work though for what you've accomplished for such a short amount of time!

This is great! Fun game, where I caught myself trying some tactics to win the last fight.

The fight feels like an Oblivion combat, when the hits or misses is kind of random, and really liked the announcer voice when someone is knocked down. I only disliked the wall text in the intro.

This was a great game. It seemed the block animation wasnt playing all the time, im not sure if thats a bug or what. Very solid game though, one of the most fun ive played so far.

Good work for this entry
I win combats and I can't buy more upgrades, is it intentional?
I don't understand how the dodge work, it feel like random.
🎤 ScalphaMission
01. May 2019 · 21:23 UTC
@rancoud The idea behind the upgrades is that you are spending the remaining life you have left to live and once its gone you don't have anymore and can't get anymore.
As for the dodge, we're retuning some of the stats to try and fix that.

Good game, I think adding some sort of stamina bar of some sorts would help so you're not inclinded to throw overhands the whole time and the jab actually means something but great game, love that you guys tried something different with boxing not being such a popular game genre, awesome job

**THE GOOD**
The concept is great. Game loop is simple and easy to understand. Controls are comfortable. The training mode was very useful to learn how the game works (I love how the exit sign is the exit button, nice touch).

**NEEDS WORK**
The upgrades felt a bit strange and a little unnecessary, more like an afterthought than an integrated part of the gameplay. Sound effects were decent but the music felt a bit out of place (I can see what you were trying to go for, but I don't think it worked out). The blocking feedback was strange, took me a while to realize that the block is displayed above the person who is attacking, not the person who is attacked. Some decals (people in the crowd) felt out of place as well as they looked more realistic than the fighters.

Overall, impressive entry for a jam game. Good work!

Very solid entry, I would love to see a little bit more polish in future updates (particles, a little more responsive animations) but it's a very good game in general. Good work mates!

Well done
very good job in such short time. Impressiv how many stuff you put in there.
A bit more polish and removing some Bugs would have been great.

But in general a really nice game.
