A fun little game with a cool concept. A little tutorial would have helped to understand the mechanics, but dying 4 times also did the trick! Would love to see a bigger version of this which allows you to take multiple paths and endings!

Really nicely laid out game, almost a cross between a Bitsy game and a Pico-8 game. Simple to pick up and understand, with a nice underlying focus on what to achieve. Well done!

a fun little game, would have liked a tutorial or a more in depth introduction to the game and it's mechanics.

I really like this type of games. I wish it had an undo option, but pretty cool non the less!

@andidebob I had a great time doing this, so I will probably explore this idea further, thanks!

@wongkongphooey Thanks! I didnt know if the mechanics were going to fit well in this type of game, but I'm happy with the result. It's also my first game with pico-8 🙂

@rombus Thanks! The undo option is a good idea, but it would break the random attack multiplier stuff that makes you plan strategies and take risks.

@cheesepencil That's the best compliment I can get. Thank you!

Nice retro graphics, felt like a gameboy game. Like the mood and story too, quite mysterious. Good entry

Simple and beautiful! I'm in love with the graphics and the whole concept is great! With sound design the game would be a perfect little experience. Really liked that little morality dilemma, though I'm not the one to take unnecessary risks :p

@aitalvasilev Thank you! I need to learn how to make sound effects and ambient sounds with pico-8, I don't think I could ever compose any song haha

Lovely feeling and setting of the game! The way you built your game in PICO-8 certainly bought up a unique style to the game, making everything extremely consistent from the design to the artwork.

I loved it, keep it up :D

I loved this game.
I already like Pico-8 games, and this is no exception.
I like the progression of the game and how it is like a puzzle.
I also liked the way you can win the game in a lot of ways.
The game is VERY pleasing, congratulations.

Played through twice, once with my murder face on, and then with my diplomatic blue neck tie. The art style is nice'n tight, and the game has this great feeling of depth, even if it's just a tiny demo. That's hard to pull off, so big kudos!

The graphics were very cute and it was fun exploring and slowly increasing my hearts. Although I felt bad about killing some of the characters....

Thank you all for your kind words! I wanted to convey mistery and a sense of adventure with the tone and mood of the game, and also to use the mechanics and the narrative to show my take on the theme. It's amazing to read your comments saying just that 😃

Nice little game! Very cute artstyle. Maybe adding functionality to run faster would be nice, but otherwise - a great submission!
