Diebarians by Knatt

[raw]
made by Knatt for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Our submission for Ludem Dare 45: start with nothing

You play as an Orcish warrior, looking to prove himself and become king of the barbarians.

Use your time between fights to increase stats, or hunt to get money. Equip trinkets that will aid you in battle, or training.

COMBAT:

During combat, you will roll dice with the goal of overcoming your opponents Challenge Rating (CR). If you are unable to beat them, then the total optained from rolling will be subtracted from their CR, and you will loose 1 Hit Point (HP). You can attempt to overcome there CR until your HP runs out

STATS:

STRENGTH: A measure of physical prowess

This stat determines how many d6 will be rolled in combat

for every 2 points in strength, an additional die will be added

SKILL: A measure of how well you can use your axe

This stat will determines how many additional dice can explode after the first

CUNNING: A mesure of how well you preform in combat

This stat determines how many additional dice get rolled after rolling a number that explodes

KNOWN ISSUES/BUGS: -On the last day befor any challenge if you go to the shop the fight button overlaps the back button. this can create a situation where you can buy a trinket, but are not able to equip it

-the 3rd week trinket prize will have the discription of the 4th week prize and vice versa

NOTES:

Thank you very much for playing! There were a lot of things that we didn't get around to adding. Like music, in game tutorial, or an endless mode. Each Ludem Dare is a chance to learn, and I'm looking forward to any and all criticism

I had fun with the dice simulator. The art was nice. The use of so much RNG feels like I don't have control over how well or poorly I do. There was a nice variety of mechanics.

One of my favorite games, I've played actually, loved the graphics and sounds, The gameplay was very calming but also exciting, I loved when all the dice flew around the screen and kept adding up as I leveled up. The premise of the game was also just fantastic. If you added some adventuring mechanics and polished the graphics even more you could even make a full game out of this! Loved it! Excellent job! Great luck with your game! I hope you get all the rating you need in time too!

Very cool game for a one person. Nice drawing!
If you make the interface a bit more modern, it will be a really nice game:)

Adding a story in such a short time is very impressive.

@lilkrit Just a quick note, my wife made the graphics for the game, I'll update that in the description. She doesn't have an account with LD so shes not listed as an author

Thank you for playing! :)
