Rebuild of Edge by Twelvoo

[raw]
made by Twelvoo for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

In this game, you'll be able to control the physics of some objects in the world. But......why you can control physics? It is a story about war and love, death and life. Figure out the story hiding beneath through solving puzzles and collecting items. Untitled-1.gif Screenshot (6).pngScreenshot (3).pngScreenshot (1).png Use A and D to move the character, W to jump. Click and hold the word COLLIDER or GRAVITY, drop them on the other to swap them.

-10/10, no linux, mac or android build in the zip.

Doesn't run on Wine, so I can't rate it.

New Concept. Great Graphics. But need polishing... The Physics were glitchly and the controls surely could be better... Maybe Having The Toggles mapped on a key and a message like "Press Space to Reset the level"

Sorry, it is my first time posting a game. I'll try to figure out how to support other platforms.

@twelvoo That's ok, sorry! It's a Unity game, so you can just export it for Web, zip the result and put it on itch.

This was a nice puzzler. The interface was a bit confusing at first, but it is easy to understand thanks to the helpful tips. It would be nice if there was some conveyance when an aspect of an object was toggled on and off. The art was charming and cute. Took me a bit to realize freeze made an object able to be pushed. Really good job, I found the central mechanic interesting!

I like the art and the music, but the game is very confusing to me. At first I wasn't aware that I was controlling a character at all. Once I started moving around I got some of the tutorial to play, but I attempted to follow the instructions and couldn't make any progress. I was able to remove the collider on the box - I think - and disable the gravity on the trunks, but I was unable to make any forward progress after this point. It's a shame because I liked the idea.

great looking puzzle game, interface was a bit difficult to understand at first but when you get used to it the game plays really well!

Pretty cool. I like what you've done here.
I guess my biggest issue is that interface. It's solid and it works but it's cumbersome. Some hotkeys might have made that a bit smoother.
That said I played for awhile and had an okay time. Decent puzzles.

Thanks for all the comments! I'm carefully reading them, and I'll try to polish the game in the future!

The mechanisms of the puzzle gameplay are a clever idea, well done :)
I just had some confusing moments, mixing the buttons in the UI.

The art is pretty too

Art is great! I had issues with UI placement (the buttons were in the wrong position)

Quite a bit of complexity in the puzzle interaction made the puzzles quite challenging! Nice job!

I really like this, the puzzle's are very solid and the story is really nice. Some of the letters get a little hard to read but towards the end especially that's intentional. The tips generally saved me from any trouble with the interface, I thought.

UI Scaling is a bit off. Great music choice. Nice storytelling and art.

An interesting idea, but had major UI problems that became impossible to deal with on the first level where you need to swap the words. The text box covered the words that needed to be swapped and I couldn't click on them. See image below. You likely have a mix of resolution-specific and resolution-independent values that are becoming broken on my screen.

@notgreat I realized it's because I didn't set canvas size scale with screen size. I am so sorry about it. It is my first time posting a game so I didn't realize some of the details. Really sorry, I'll try to fix it later. Thank you for pointing it out!

Fun little puzzle platformer really liked the concept and I appreciate the little world building! Like others have mentioned the UX wasn't great but I still enjoyed my time, great job!

I like this game so much! very innocative and has nice art style! The instructions for players are very clear and friendly. What a nicely designed game! (However, personally speaking, I'd like use space to jump, but everytime I press space I restart the level, that's a little annoying...Maybe use R to restart,or ban the hotkey, since we have a restart button!)

A bit confusing at first, but a great little idea. Reminds me somewhat of Baba is You. Could use some polish, but has potential as a bigger game.

Nice art and very interesting concept! As others have said though, I do think the controls for switching collider and gravity need to be more intuitive (and whether the collider/gravity is on or off should be shown as well). It also felt like puzzles were too easy to break at times by taking advantage of the physics when switching colliders, but also kind of part of the fun. Well done overall, there's definite potential in the story-based approach you're taking.

This is a fantastic game! I absolutely love the graphics! The physics idea is really cool.

I found using the mouse to click the buttons very weird and cumbersome. But then I switched to using my touchscreen and it was much better! Although I think just using keyboard keys would be the best.

(I refreshed the page and it duplicated my comment, can't seem to delete, please ignore...)

Actually I'll use this comment to add that the main character is really cute!!!

Great concept! I liked how you could switch gravity and collider, so from very few elements you could create different levels. What was a bit heavy for me was the UX/UI. I would just make a switch button f there are only these 2 abilities to switch. This would make it more fluid. Also a button state would be nice, as I do not know if the collider is active or not. Just to give the player more feedback.

Mood wise this is one of my favorite games. I love the storytelling and it motivated me to move on from level to level. Even to replay the game to get the full picture of what is going on. This is a nice physics platformer which introduces concepts and controls at a nice pace so that the game doesnt get too intimidating. Great Work!

Fun mecanic there, you can find your own way of doing puzzle and its interesting
The story is well writen with simple sentences that help reading it
Could gain a look with a bit more feedbacks, with the mecanic and with the walking animation that feel really slow
The mood is great
Overall neat entry gg !
