I liekd the concept gives it a very nice mood. I wish the combat was either faster or more fine-tuned.
The fact that you face direction of movement also makes it quiet difficult to attack the target.
The beginning could be a tad shorter so that we get to the main gameplay faster.
Good job though!

THIS IS AMAZING. The beginning could be a little bit shorter, and the combat could be improved, but this gets an A+ for humor!

I really enjoyed playing this game, the intro was really nice and so was the 'reason' for the game so to say. I really loved the mood and the humor in the game, for the compo time period you did an amaizing job!

The combat was a bit clunky in my opinion, it takes a while to put up the shield so many times the shield was not reay in time to block an incomming attack. The stab seemed to do little damage. I was not able to kill the final boss (forgot the name) since my character turned around for seemingly no reason.

The graphics are amaizing tho and so is the music/sfx. Really great job!

Nice use of the theme :D I know it's too much to ask for a jam game, but would've been cool to e.g. get to pick things ("he wields a sword! no, an axe!"). Also liked the little twist at the end :P Good stuff!

Nice entry! Combination of story narration and actual gameplay is a nice touch, especially when things are changing as you read.

Combat could be a little smoother, but overall it felt pretty fair. Lord Gronthulus was difficult but beatable.

Thanks for the kind feedback!

@wolfrug That's what I was planning on doing initially! Sadly, I ran out of time and had to pivot to making the story line.

Also I finally got the source code up. My upload speed is awful.

I really love the concept of this game. The intro was interesting, but felt longer than necessary due to the scrolling speed of the text. I kind of wish the text scrolled faster or appeared at once, allowing people to read at whatever speed they prefer. There were also a lot of typos. But overall the game and prose kept me interested right up to the end! Great job for only 48 hours!

I had a lot of trouble learning how to proper control Almond. The acceleration feels so weird. But once I got the hang of it, I had quite some fun. Good story, nice turn of events with "and then it started to rain lasers", nice sound track. The battles felt a bit boring, so I just avoided all of them, still the huge guy in the end took me a while to figure out how to beat him. Good game, well done.

I thought it was going just to be a sit back and watch thing for a while, and boy oh boy, I got a good surprise coming. The graphics were so good, the storytelling was really nice, the brainstorming of the narrator and everything happening in the Bg were super harmonic!! I'd change the font, and that's about the ,most problem I had. Since I am a little dyslexic pixelated fonts are a little hard for me, but this one was pixelated and cursive at the same time and I spent a solid minute trying to figure out why "I" wasn't attacking. I thought it was a bug but the it hit me that it was a "J". I felt bad for the first knight cause he didn't even attack me, he just stood there while i hit him with my sword. I went into an existential crisis.
Was I the bad guy all along? the villain?
What exactly did that one specific guy did to me to deserve his death?

The concept really got me, I'll revisit this when/if you make a post jam version <3
great job on the compo

Nice concept! The gameplay is very clunky though. Hard-to-use controls and collisions mess with player control.
